We are committed to providing the highest quality free language education to anyone in the world.
----------
How it works:
1. Listen to a native speaker, of either gender, say a sentence.
2. Record yourself on the microphone.
3. Get feedback within 24 hours.
4. (Soon) Have others think you're native.
----------
The Speechling Method
With a foundation in our mission, the Speechling Method uses a combination of technology and human coaching to help our students learn new languages.
We place an emphasis on speaking, because of the lack of free and affordable tools for helping people speak. By breaking down spoken language barriers, we hope to increase access to education, employment opportunities, and a better quality of life.
----------
Immersion
As a technology platform, we’re available as an educational tool 24/7. Speechling uses spaced repetition and sophisticated algorithms to let our users practice from thousands of sentences with real human voices from both genders.
----------
Personal Feedback
As a personal tutoring service, our certified pronunciation coaches give feedback on your speaking within 24 hours. Advanced students can answer a question or describe an image, and we will give feedback similar to what a private tutor will provide.

Speechling Reviews

Not authentic pronunciation

The coaches on the app all are correcting the recorded versions of the words. Take the time to hire authentic speakers in the first place. Very frustrating.

Speechling is the language tool I’ve been looking for!

I have been pursuing French for years and tried multiples sites and programs. I just discovered Speechling and it’s what I’ve been looking for! They have the options I need. In particular, I have wanted to develop my pronunciation and my listening comprehension. With Speechling, I can practise through recorded mimicry or dictation, and then I can hear and see my errors and correct them immediately. Afterwards, the difficult sentences come back for review. PLUS it’s free and accessible, with 10 feedback notes per month from a real tutor. I haven’t explored it completely. I just jumped right in the first few exercises that were available but I am hooked and can give this glowing review without any hesitation. It’s well-organized and well-designed! Thank you Speechling! I really appreciate your vision and ethics. I celebrate that you exist. After slogging along for so long, you are such a gift. I appreciate the bite-sized chunks. I have been trying to do dictations with YouTube videos. I pause it after every minute, but have to record the time when I stop and start, and have to keep finding my place again and again to repeat the sentence. I have gotten discouraged when it’s a 20 minute Tedtalk, and it’s taken me an hour to transcribe 2 minutes. Yet using these YouTube videos with the subtitle options and slower playback speeds was the most effective free exercise I had discovered in my language-learning journey Now, Speechling provides singular sentences, that I able to hear repeated at a click of a button, able to hear with slower playback, able to hear myself repeat, able to have tutor feedback, and able to review in a minute or 10 minute or 4 days. What an incredible tool!

May need some update to run better

Stuck on the opening logo screen for quite a while when I open the app. But overall it could be a helpful learning tool.

Be careful

If you're the type who wants to learn region specific language, this app is faulty at that. I found that I was learning Latin American Spanish when I wanted to learn European Spanish. I had contacted the CEO, but he was somewhat stubborn and doesn't seem to receive critism very well. Good thing I didn't pay for premium as I cannot support something with my money if they aren't willing to improve it.

Amazing!

Please keep supporting this app! I just downloaded it a few days ago and I really think it could become my main method of learning! There’s every kind of practice you can think of including: writing down what you hear, describing pictures, recording pronunciation, and learning all kinds of new vocabulary and grammar. As a youth who struggles financially, I incredibly appreciate being able to learn without paying a subscription I can’t afford. Please keep doing what you’re doing! Thanks! :)

不要付费,不要付费,不要付费

我第一次使用时是一年前,我选择的只是一个月付费,不是每个月也不是无限期,后来我就卸载了。直到最近我在看信用卡才发现它们每个月扣除了我40刀,真的很可怕,没有邮件的通知。 这样子赚钱真的不怕坏名声吗。

Really helpful for pronunciation!

My coach Giulia is awesome. It would be nice to have better mode for general feedback, along with specific pronunciation feedback.
