Man kann beim erstellen eines Kontos einiges falsch machen und sich am Ende komplett aussperren…Passwörter sollen nicht zu lang, keine Sonderzeichen an Anfang und Ende haben, einige Sonderzeichen sind ganz schlecht… Eine Menge Sachen - leider steht das nirgendwo. 3 Sterne gibt es weil der Support wirklich hilft. Allerdings war es für beide Seiten anstrengend (Sprachbarriere, Zeitzone…). Was mich immer stört (nicht nur hier) ist die halbherzige Übersetzung. Das führt auch zu Missverständnissen! Ich bin mir nicht sicher ob SplashID und die Firma dahinter eine solide Hausnummer ist. Im Moment habe ich dort eher unwichtige Sachen hinterlegt.
Time to say good bye
Nach über 10 Jahren mit SplashID, damals auf einem Palm habe ich mich nun entschlossen die App von meinem Gerät zu verbannen.
Innerhalb von 2 Stunden habe ich meine über 700 Passworteinträge auf ein Konkurrenzprodukt migriert. Die Abo Erhöhung um 300% brachte jedenfalls meinen Unmut und den Ausschlag zum Wechsel!

Detoriating, unfortunately…
I started using this SW even on Palm OS and had always been pleased with it. But more recently it gets increasingly annoying. Syncing between iOS mobile + osx desktop via same WLAN doesn‘t just work as used to, syncing iOS mobiles to cloud just changes category names + other fields‘ contents or comes up with stuff long erased. No status infos given (actual response times - when is an uploaded-to-cloud set from one mobile available for another to sync with !?) so switching to islands‘ mode…
zunehmend schlecht
seit vielen Jahren nutze ich SplashID - in meiner Familie wurde es zum Synonym für Passwörter und zur Redewendung („schau doch mal in Schpläschit“ wenn mir irgend etwas nicht einfiel).
Leider fällt mir zunehmend etwas nicht ein, obwohl es in SplashID gespeichert ist.
> Entweder geht es garnicht auf, wenn z.B. das Gerät eine schlechte Netzwerbindung hat oder lässt sich dutzende Sekunden Zeit damit,
> Oder die Label der EInträge sind gelöscht oder durcheinander
> Oder die selber gewählten Icons werden nicht mehr korrekt angezeigt
> oder oder
Insgesamt habe ich das Gefühl, dass das Tool kontinuierlich schlechter und unzuverlässiger wird. Längst schon plane ich den Umstieg, schade nur, dass das so aufwändig ist.
Übrigens stört mich auch, dass man von diversen Tools liest, aber niemals von SplashID. Ist das Tool derart „undercover“, dass es niemand bemerkt hat? Oder derart abseits, dass es niemanden interessiert? Längst habe ich kein gutes Gefühl mehr damit ... adieu lifetime-abo.

Unverschämter Betrug
Habe die App vor ein paar Jahren als Vollversion gekauft. Nutze sie nur noch selten, habe aber noch ein paar Daten darin. An die komme ich seit neuestem nicht mehr heran, weil nun jedes Bedienelement einen InApp-Kauf des Jahreabbo erzwingen will. Kann also auf keines meiner Daten mehr zugreifen und sie lesen. So geht man mit alten Kunden die Geld bezahlt haben nicht um. Das ist Raubrittertum! Eigentlich sollte Apple die App aus dem Store nehmen. Rate ab. 0 Sterne.

man sollte sein passwort nicht verlegen und ein extern gesichertes backup der splashID haben.
mit wifi sync gibt es 10versuche, danach wird alles gelöscht, auch alle backups die die software finden kann.
das ist konsequent: schutz gibt es nur, wenn man nicht mit millionen von bruteforce-eingaben das passwort knacken kann.
dafür muss das splashID-passwort aber auch nicht extrem kompliziert sein.
