Been with St G for 14 years now however also have other bank accounts with online banks. Their apps are so much better. What frustrates me the most with this one, and for which I have been caught out numerous times with, is it highlights the balance INCLUDING all those purchases you have made days and days ago giving you a sense you have more in your bank account than you do. I appreciate they are pending but come on! They’ve been transacted already, you will get your merchant fee, but you still tell me money is available? It makes me mad so much so I’m closing my account. My other banks show the actual balance. I’ve worked in banks and know the uncleared balance isn’t the correct balance to refer too however St G has it as their primary ‘bold’ balance giving you a sense of false balances. It is only St G and I don’t need the hassle.

Since I changed phones the app access has been terrible can’t set up quick access and makes me log in 3times before it authenticates

The only way to login if you forget your customer access number is using your st.George card. I don’t have a st.George card. I tried to call the support desk but you need to be logged in through the app in order to get thru to someone. In other words, I need to go into a branch to get the account unlocked. Why is there no 2 factor authentication such as an email or phone number that you can reset the password on like any other bank, instead of using your St.George card. Really bad and outdated verification system.

I haven’t been able to get withdrawal notifications since the app upgraded ,which is really important todays climate. I just got off the phone with a representative telling me that the app is broken and the only way to get it fixed is to complain , complain to the ombudsman I said , yes he said. Really is that the best you can do St George.

We CONSTANTLY get locked out of our account on this app - it is extremely frustrating. It’s to the point that I am going to refinance to another bank that has a MUCH easier online banking system that doesn’t lock us out every single time it needs to update!!! I’ve gone in to the centre multiple times and I’m always met with below average customer service - I’ve only had 1 positive customer service experience in the 4 years I’ve been there. Fix the app and the attitude.
