It’s a okay app that works as intended but when doing gym workouts, it’s not smooth. They expect you to move between machines for a set which isn’t feasible in a large busy gym. Also requires you to record weight with no benefit for next round. Not worth the money.
No trials or refunds
I don’t like to do a bad review but I got very frustrated that the app doesn’t offer a trial and don’t refund if I don’t like it. i really like Mari and her podcast and I was looking forward ti try it out but thought the advanced workout was very easy and short + not well direction. I wiah they could offer a one week trial
Good, but not the best option
The UI is lovely, it’s clean, and not overwhelming with too many unnecessary buttons and features like many apps out there. It is very glitchy though. It’s way to easy to accidentally click out of the workout and all of the progress/reps/weights I entered were scrapped and I had to redo everything. Very frustrating. It also crashed all the time, to the point where it was intolerable in the end, and I had to switch apps. I also found some of the workouts unclear in the direction. For example, I never knew how many reps I should do total, or for each arm or leg? Other little things like that which made me feel nervous I was doing it wrong. I’ve also reached out to SLAY for help but never got a response.
Not user friendly - confusing and poorly designed
I am a HUGE Mari fan. I used her PDF guides way back before Slay ever existed, which is why I am so disappointed with this app.
1. The Pilates section does not have instructions; it’s a 10-minute video, and you don’t have info on reps or anything. This is very confusing.
2. There’s no way to follow an at-home guide; only workouts that you can pick at random.
3. The app tries too hard to be everything. It needs to double down on guides and workouts, not all the fluff that directs us to her other businesses.
App functionality
I have been doing Mari workouts for 4-5 years when she was getting started. The workouts are great. My issue with the app. I am unable to click the back arrow once I’m looking into a guide and then I have to shut down the app and open it back up. Seems like this should get fixed asap
Good but not for iPhone 15
The app isn’t set up for full function on an iPhone 15 pro- I’ll select and exercise and want to go to the Home Screen but the back screen button is unreachable on an iPhone 15 Pro (iOS 17.4.1 and app version 2.0.17) so I have to force close the app and then reopen the app entirely. It’s super frustrating and I wish I hadn’t paid $80 for this nonsense. I liked the exercises and would recommend if the app weren’t such a pain to use.
Terrible app
Good workouts but the app crashes every time. I have to restart the workout multiple times. Not worth the money when you can’t get through a workout.
Just OK
Workouts are good, but App has issues. Can’t explore the other workouts without losing your progress. No way to pause the workout. Once you start a workout you can’t get info or description on the exercise you are doing. So many more…..I would not recommend this App. Also, I believe I got fraudulent charges on my CC from this App from an affiliate partner!!
Two weeks now nothing but a little 8
I have signed up for this app two times and both times it has given out on me! Love the content but nothing more frustrating that setting my alarm for 5:45am and the app is unusable!!!! I’m 96% through a workout plan and now this again! I want a refund and looking for an app that I can depend on!
Glitchy
Great workouts and easy to use. I wish you were able to take notes for each workout. There’s also a lot of problems with the rest timer, sometimes it doesn’t count down at all. The app is pretty glitchy.
