Bug ridden
I really wanted to like Jellyfin and this native iOS client Swiftfin. But it is incredibly buggy. Live TV will cause the app to lock up. Unfortunately it just doesn’t compare to Plex.
Yes, Swiftfin is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.

Don’t waste you time on using this app to securely to your Jellyfin server if you use self-signed certificate or a private certificate authority. This app supports neither and the author has no intentions of adding it. It’s a shame to have such short-sighted app authors that don’t listen to their users needs
Only my movies and tv shows are showing any not my home media
On two different model AppleTVs and with each the video falls out of audio sync. Running jellyfin app in other tv streamers and different players apps on the AppleTV no issue. I will rate again after next patch.
I love this app, but it shows content I can’t watch on the “watch next”/“continue watching” screen due to it not being supported on the Swiftfin client. Please fix this so the experience can be better.
Subtitle selection does not work anymore. If you select a subtitle option, then it immediately resets to no subtitles.
The app can connect to the server however it does not display any content. The web portal functions as intended but it does not support background play.
After using the browser app “Jellyfin” on iOS (basically just safari with a plugin) for THREE YEARS, only find out the same dev made this app too?? Why this isn’t the native one? Many people wanted offline video download… honestly I see the technical challenge on this, but maybe try an idea that download offline file like streaming (convert on server, save that file locally on iOS).
I haven’t been on the app for a long while due to some missing features, but it’s really coming together! The new format makes navigation a breeze, and the coloring looks great! Only complaint… I don’t have one of my Media folders available. In this case Anime is missing from All Media. Though “Next up” does have some shows from it. Sad day
I’ve used the two apps by the developer on my iPhone and iPad and I love them. I usually default to the JellyFin client app over SwiftFin because I’m always editing stuff. I wish that I had not updated my iPad to the newest version of SwiftFin. I am unable to update my server to the newest versions because it is running on an older Mac, and when I updated SwiftFin on my iPad, I found out that this newest version can no longer talk to my server. I’d had this happen with my Android box’s JellyFin client app, but was able to side load an older version. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t allow you to undo an upgrade, so my iPad will likely never be able to use SwiftFin again. I will not be updating the JellyFin app on any of my devices whenever it gets released.
