Welcome to the Tallinja App. With the Tallinja App, you will enjoy all the benefits of Malta Public Transport by travelling more affordably and sustainably.
The Tallinja App has many functions that will make your day-to-day journeys easier while combining all transport services offered by Malta Public Transport:
Real-time information: Locate your nearest bus stop on the map and check all available bus routes to your chosen destination. Real-time information can be accessed by tapping on your nearest bus stop.
Real-time bus tracking: Follow your bus in real-time while you are waiting at the bus stop. Once you tap on your nearest bus stop, choose “Show buses on the map in real-time” to locate on the map the bus you are waiting for.
My Cards: In this section, you can add, manage, and keep track of several payment methods. Additionally, you can connect your personalised Tallinja Card or Flex Card with the Tallinja App. This will enable you to view your transaction history, pay for any Tallinja On Demand bookings, and check for any new travel offers.
The Journey Planner: Plan your bus trips by choosing your departure location and your destination. The journey planner will suggest various bus routes for you to choose from.
On Demand: Tallinja On Demand is a public transport on-demand service. In this section, you can book a seat on one of our premium buses. Simply choose from which bus stop you would like to be picked up and from which bus stop you would like to be dropped off.
Favourites: Create your favourites list by clicking on the heart icon on the map view, including your most visited destinations or the bus stops or bus routes you use regularly.
Service Update: Check the map for caution signs that indicate alerts or service disruptions. Simply click on the alert tag to access detailed information about the service update. This feature ensures that you are aware of any changes that may affect your journey. Also, you can receive push notifications on service alerts happening on your saved favourite routes and bus stops. This way, you can plan your trips more effectively and stay up-to-date with any disruptions on your preferred routes.

Useless for short notice trips / ad hoc planning
Unless you plan at least one hour ahead this app is useless, it only shows connections that are at least one hour in the future, so if you try to find schedules for next departure while waiting at the bus stop it will not output useful information. Google maps seems not to have this problem. Also the routes / transfers suggested by this app sometime seem to be less efficient compare to the results in Google maps.
Great ideas in the app but not well eyecuted
This app somehow broke suddenly. Now it always zooms out towards world view in a planned schedule and shows 1min für every ride or walk duration. How can one use this app, aside from the busses always running 30min+ late? Even Google refuses to plan routes on the island now due to unreliable data!
Horrible
The app clearly needs an option for proper walking directions to the bus stops. You can get easily lost and if you ask the bus driver, he either doesn’t know or gives you false information. The infrastructure is okay but the buses rarely come on time or even show up, it’s kind of a guessing game.
The worst public transport in EU
Maltese public transport as well as this app are disgrace to Malta. The bus routes changes, but the app still shows the old route. You may end up waiting an hour under heavy sun only to find out the bus isn’t coming.
Neues Update sperrt Nutzer der Tallinja Card für Einwohner aus
Seit dem neuesten Update ist ein Einloggen mit Kundennummer unmöglich. Eine Neuregistrierung mit bestehender Tallinja Card (grün) ist auch nicht möglich. Man kann nur noch eine Flex registrieren. Damit ist weder eine Kontrolle der Ausgaben (Fähre, Shuttle zwischen den Fähren) noch der Lottery Tickets möglich. Keine Reaktion auf Meldung via Website.
Worst Public Transport Experience eher
Not only is the App a terrible User Experience. When You Finally get a Bus ticket (You can‘t Buy one in the App) You still have to pray, that the Bus-Driver stops at the bus stop. Try to find any Other way of Transportation and avoid this terrible Company at any cost
Idee top, Umsetzung flopp
An sich ist das ausgebaute System auf der Insel wirklich top, aber manchmal bleiben die Buse nicht stehen oder werden falsch in der App angezeigt. Bei populären Plätzen kann auch sein das der Bus voll ist und man nicht mehr mitkommt.
Lieber Google Maps
Google Maps ist deutlicher richtiger bzgl. der Busverbindungen als diese App. Manchmal haben in der App Direktverbindungen gefehlt und stattdessen wurden Verbindungen mit Umsteigen angezeigt.
Katastrophen App - Hier stimmt nichts
Keine Registrierung möglich, die angezeigten Busse kommen in Wirklichkeit gar nicht dafür kommen andere. Umsteigemöglichkeiten und werden nicht vernünftig angezeigt.
