TED

The app was initially Great. Not any longer. Each new update seem to create a number of additional hiccups . Recently the screen in turning in one big black hole after navigating forward or backward. In addition “recordings” keep playing in the background even after starting a new “Ted-talk” presentation. Very confusing and unappealing! Good friends “less is often more” ! (2024-05-08)

Opening the dock on my iPad (swiping from the upper right) and calibrating brightness/volume while watching a video results in a bug where the video will continue playing with a dark screen. I have to close and reopen the app to be able to watch the video again. I hope you can solve this.

It is difficult to see the point of the in-app search: for some reason, it is impossible to find the talks I am looking for simply by their exact title or even author, while a simple search on the web immediately produces the correct result. And I had to make an account only to find this out.

App crashes when starting a talk, since iOS upgrade. Please bring it back !

The language filter isn’t working. I can’t find TED talks per language.

Since last updates the app became very slow loading, sloppy and doesn’t react properly. Please check and fix it. I’m using latest iOS14.3 without success. This app needs to be rebuilt to avoid using too much resources and getting stuck at launch, please.

Definitely the worst iOS app I have used since a long time : extremely slow, the search function simply does not work. How can such a big organization have such a bad app ? The content is great but the app is shameful.

iOS 14.2 on a 3y old iPhone SE appears to be a no go for ted. It doesn’t even run, although sometimes I do get to see the logo. Judging from ted’s reaction on several similar reviews i read here, I will have to buy a new phone to be able to use the app (or, no kidding, go to the website and watch in my browser: good one, ted). Ted has grown into a terrific educative platform. I’m quite curious about the reasons why you would not want to use that to reach people with “older” devices.

- sometimes keyboard disappears when typing - no menu on the left where video's are categorised under their subjects - app regularly stops responding I think the Ted talks are wonderful. The app however is not the way to watch them!
