Search doesn’t work

fiberkids on

United States

Can’t use the search function on the Apple TV app, it just closes the app when you try either voice or typing. No way contact them via their web site

DON’T DO IT!

Slobbersparkles on

United States

This app makes you sign up outside of the app. It will bill you outside of the app. You will pay, forget about it, then a year later they will bill you again for $259.20. Which will come as a surprise and you will immediately try to contact them for a refund. After all, it’s been a year since you even used the app. You will not find any kind of support for help, other than email. They don’t have a number to call. They will finally respond to your email saying they can’t find your email, despite your account saying your are signed up on their website. You will immediately send the receipt of them taking your money and they will take a few days to finally respond and tell you they previously sent you an email (which you didn’t receive and how could you if they don’t have your email connected with your account?) and can only refund you HALF of the amount they took. Total scam. Find it somewhere else. Don’t trust.

PLAY WHILE IN BACKGROUND

Oregoon111 on

Please please please allow the app to play its audio in the background. People may tell you that the media of choice is visual. That video killed the radio star. But how hard is it to convey a complex idea with only the visual aspect? To demonstrate how crucial language and the audio aspect is, let’s consider that only through the use of subtitles, a novel phenomenon, is conveyance of knowledge without audio even close to possible. But aren’t subtitles just a manipulated form of audio? I guarantee I am not the only person that wants to be free to carry on with our lives while LISTENING to Ideas that Change Everything on your app. Thank you.

10 years later, player’s still glitchy

V.EKR on

United States

I used to have the TED app on my iPhone 10 years ago; it was glitchy, so it’s surprising to see that 10 years later, there has been little improvement with the player. Whatever video player you all use needs to be overhauled. Simply pulling down the control center to increase the brightness of my phone causes the video to go black—every time, but the audio still plays somehow. The website’s video also tends to go black randomly and is laggy beyond belief, no matter what device or browser I use. I don’t imagine I’m only one who, out of frustration with the player, stopped visiting your app and website and chose to rely on YT to watch TED videos. The think about that is one tends to forget TED videos even exist after a while. Oh well…

Love the app! One suggestion.

I had been watching TED talks on my safari web browser and it was always glitching. The app works great and I love that it saves your progress if you don’t finish a video. I also like being able to save videos to watch later. My only complaint is that I can’t find a list of already watched videos. I’ve watched a bunch and when I think about one I’d like to share with someone I can’t find it. The app would be perfect with this added.

Search crashes on Apple TV

dankorus on

United States

I normally love this app, but giving it one star in hopes that a bug will be fixed soon on the Apple TV edition of this app. What happens is this: I try to search and as soon as I enter a character in the search field the app crashes. This happens only on Apple TV. Please fix, and I will revert to a 5 star rating.

Poorly designed

Thourdin on

The video stops working if I open the notifications or control center by accident. The captioning works randomly. This is bungled.

Love it!

Amazing 🩷

90% great app but they don’t want your feedback

unhappy user.....work related on

United States

Love this app and it’s content but there is a bug that keeps updating/refreshing the screen while I am searching for content. When I try to find a way to report the issue I discover that there is no way to contact the developers. Even the App Store takes you to where you have a drop down to report a quality issue and states that it is free content. And dead end. Typing here is the only option.
