TfL Oyster and contactless Reviews
CHEAT!!! Do avoid this!!!!
Cannot do anything. Cannot get new card . Top up have to wait more than hours, so I missed more than 1train in hurried situation. Cannot refund card, you can only ring the office which is no one response. So I loss all my money in cardT-T Very bad bad idea
Unusable
App is borderline useless, doesn’t show incomplete journeys, can’t add or remove cards, topping up oyster is tedious, the OTP window frequently resizes so you can’t even put in your email to validate. No idea how it has such high ratings, TFL probably paying for good reviews
Payment clunky
Awkward
Used to be brilliant
But you can’t top up now.
It gets as far as “Confirm it’s you” (even though I have already used Face ID and entered a CVV) to verify the payment… and then it gets stuck.
Utterly pointless security (is it really necessary to pass checks three times, especially with face recognition in place) m ans that this app is now pointless. I now have to withdraw cash and go to the shop to top up my Oyster card.
Subpar
Randomly logs you out, cannot login using Keychain password. Also why can’t I add it to wallet?!
Payment screen issue
The payment authentication moves off the visible screen and will not move back making confirmation difficult.
Passwords
Doesn’t work with password managers and won’t let you paste in a password. Bad behaviour.
Good when it works
This app has always been glitchy. It often won’t accept your password and makes logging in painful. It also struggles on occasion to manage the payment security process with your bank and times out on the payment. If you have time, the machines at the station are much better!
That said, when it works, it’s straightforward and convenient to manage.
