Things 3 for iPad Reviews

Great app but needs screenshot / image support

Xlynxx on

United Kingdom

It’s a really great app. The UI is one of the nicest to use on the iPad. Other developers should take note. It would however, be enhanced so much by the ability to add a screenshot or image to the notes area. Sometimes when I am making a note it helps to add a screenshot to the page or problem you are working with as a reminder.

No app lock

Ahhdontknow on

United Kingdom

I love this app, I have it on 4 devices. Totally worth it but I would appreciate a password to access the app, many apps these days have this functionality for privacy. I’m not sure if it is possible with the widgets as they are live but something to think about if you decide to lay out the cost. I’d still say it’s worth it.

When all around become bloated and clumsy

When Reminder apps elsewhere become bloated, clumsy and unwieldly, the quiet, sophisticated brilliance of Things persists.

Can’t stop using Things 3

RichardH1954 on

United Kingdom

I’ve been using this app for a number of years and it never fails to please me. Every now and then, I try out another task manager; some can last for a few months before I get fed up with some little quirk and come back to Things, my first love. This app is fantastic, a joy to use and makes it very easy to manage my to-dos and tasks.

Good App: one suggestion

FF1FE21FF on

United Kingdom

I’ve been using this app a lot over the last few years and it works very well and it’s very flexible. I only have a little suggestion for developers: would be helpful to have for all new tasks the date of creation and date of last modification. Keep it up! Great job.

Does what it says on the can.

Thumbs up from an Omnifocus refugee.

Fantastic app, with one huge BUT

Tige2021 on

United Kingdom

I’ve been using Things for many years and it still runs my life today. It works brilliantly, online or offline, syncing perfectly between devices when they come back online. Simple, yet powerful. The only disappointment is that collaboration STILL hasn’t been developed. This is the huge missing feature that would turn Things into the No1 essential app for so many, who need the collaboration features offered by so many (lesser) task managers. But for those who don’t care about collaboration, Things is the best there is.

Good but limited

Grellow on

United Kingdom

If you want a really simple task organiser, Things3 is great. Although expensive to use on several devices, it has a lovely clean interface, and syncs really well. It’s actually a pleasure to use. But … it’s a bit limited, especially if you like to plan ahead. When I look at my tasks due Tomorrow, they appear in a completely random order that can’t be changed. Apparently applying a basic sort order (e.g. by project!) has been logged as a feature request. But there is no transparency about this — let alone a published development backlog or roadmap. After enjoying my experience with Things, I’ll be moving on soon to something a lot more flexible. I wish I’d chosen that route in the first place — it would have saved me a lot of time & money.

Polished until it’s smooth like a pebble

Spod-I-Like on

United Kingdom

Every year I try and move to another task manager because I need some other feature - ifttt sync or web access or something - but I always come back to Things because it is so lovingly polished and frictionless. Yes I wish it had some of those other bits but at the same time I appreciate the devs for their focus.

Needs widgets

haydenlondon on

United Kingdom

I already use Things on my iPhone and bought Things for my iPad as well because it’s such a clean, simple, and useful app however there are no widgets for me to be able to display my tasks on my Home Screen. As a Uni student this would be really helpful because being able to see my day at a glance is invaluable. I doubt I’ll remember to go into Things every day to check through my list and want a visual reminder to work through the things I have to do for my coursework and also at my work.
