I’ve used it for > 2,000 miles. Apple Maps and Google Maps are at least as good and free! Save your money and use the free sat nav apps available. Traffic is sometimes accurate. Alternatives routes are tiny country lanes where you keep being stuck with oncoming traffic and it doesn’t know about the traffic until you’re stuck in it and it’s too late to have an alternative route.
Having TomTom on my phone is ideal both when driving my own car or rental cars. Allows any combination of regional maps to be loaded and frequently updated in just a couple of minutes and just £19 per annum. I’ve stopped using my Jaguar in built satnav as it requires all of Europe & Russia maps to be downloaded to USB stick taking over 2 hours then installed to car twice a year, Jaguar charge £79 per annum.
When are you going to fix the Serena UK computer voice, it’s been mispronouncing road names containing an ‘R’ incorrectly now for a long time despite many users reporting the issue. Why is this problem being ignored again and again and again…?
I drive trucks anywhere between John o’ Groats to Lands End and this sat nav for trucks is excellent. The live traffic really helps to not only find a quicker route but also to anticipate any slow moving traffic that’s ahead, giving me plenty of time to slow down the truck. It detects mobile speed cameras and I can run it on my iPhone. The voice instructions are also very clear and well spoken. This is money very well spent.
It’s not the best if you on motorway tell you to use 4 lanes but actually you can only use 3 right hand ones the first left it’s only coming Of motorway can really take you absolutely wrong way to the point even tho there are no restrictions….
Great app working well, come over from a Tomtom device to app to use CarPlay which seems great even wireless CarPlay but I am missing being able to change the colour of my arrow as on the devices I can change the “Themes” is the anyway this can be or will be incorporated into a future update?
Having switched from a TomTom device and tried out the app via CarPlay. I was shocked by how poor the default voice is. It can’t pronounce most names and is beyond a joke and very distracting. It was so bad I cancelled my subscription. This was never an issue using the same voice on the physical device.
You can not app POI files to this app. Not good at all
I really like this TomTom sat nav it’s getting better and better with the new updates, The only thing that drives me mad is she is unable to pronounce most of the roads, which means you have to keep looking at the screen to find out if your on the right road, That has one very big drawback concerning safety 🤔. Maybe send her back to school and learn the names of the roads 🤦♂️. Thank you
Love TomTom just works hence just renewed my subscription….. Email sent as per request on the 12th Jan to support… Just waiting on a reply regarding the problem with CarPlay which is the main use of this…. Apple Maps, Google maps, Waze all start and display with any delay, TomTom there is a “Loading” delay and as previously reported sometimes your location just does not move you stay at your starting location, maybe a BMW Mini problem… let’s see if support comes back with an answer…
