I I have been using TrainerRoad for half a year after getting my first road bike a year-and-a-half ago. I was able to increase my FTP by more than 10 % in that period. The TrainerRoad app allows you to either select a workout from a huge library or lets you follow a training plan. You can either create one yourself or follow one that has been designed by a professional coach that have been tailored to a specific purpose. They cover everything, from downhill mountain biking to cyclocross to TT to triathlons. Many of the workouts contain optional drills such as single leg drills or speed drills. The app is really well-designed, the interface is very minimalistic, yet supremely functional. It really allows you to focus on the workout. While there is no access to your playlist or so, that is on purpose, the app creators believe in “bring your own entertainment”. For me that works very well. Depending on the intensity, I either listen to podcasts or music. The app does not “gamify” cycling training like e. g. Zwift does. Also this is a choice. That is why it IMHO works much better for people who enjoy training. The app is augmented by a web service, which allows you to manage your training calendar. Currently, this is not possible in the app, but I am sure this will come in a future upgrade.
自分の能力の維持できる限界を知っているかのようにメニューを組んでくれます。 続けたら間違いなく限界値が向上すると思います。
Used TR for about 4 years until I realized that their methodology is very outdated and that there are better options available on the market that are more effective, more engaging and often less expensive. TR guys are behind the times and although they offer a nice use interface the training programs are based on 90’s thinking and boring as hell. They have no real coaching credentials yet act like they are the cutting edge of the science. Zwift is very engaging and also offers training plans and Rouvy has intervals and video rides. Xert is probably the best training system on the market for the dedicated cyclist. TR has a podcast that preaches poor nutritional advice. FastTast from VeloNews is THE podcast for serious cyclists. They have top guests from the cutting edge of cycling who openly contradict much of what TR preaches!
Awesome library of training plans to choose from and the calendar makes following the plan and picking the right workouts easy. Seen good gains over my time using it. App works great during the workouts. Hard to flaw it. Love it.
