I have been loving my workouts on the TRX app! I find it really easy to use, I receive notifications about new workouts and programs which makes me accountable to jump on and do a workout whenever I can! The instructors are very knowledgable and motivate you as if you were in a class environment! I love that there is always new content being released, I’m currently doing the Summer Shred program and loving the variety of workouts..! It’s hard and it pushes me beyond what I would do on my own which is good 😅
Not a TRX-Quality build — terrible on-demand experience
Let me start by saying that I rarely review stuff, if ever. But this app fell so much below my expectations that it prompted me to say something.
I’ve been training with TRX for more than 10 years, and generally love the products and the experience. LOVED the older TRX Force App, still use it regularly. Must have completed those programs at least 1-2 times per year over the years, always with great results.
So, when I purchased the Yearly On-Demand membership ($50), I expected a similar experience. But, it was nothing like TRX Force.
STUFF I LIKE:
-Instructors
-Workouts
-Variety of workout types (strength, flexibility, yoga, etc.)
-Workout Filters
STUFF I’M ANNOYED BY:
This app is basically a bunch of random workouts, with a search and filter function.
They have a grouping for what they call Programs and another one for Collections, but no features to help you follow the programs.
Simple features like:
-Subscribe to Program,
-Save Progress
-Resume Workout/Program
-Add workout to personal plan
-Create Custom Plan
-Workout Timers
-Program Calendar Features
-Completion Check box
-Allow background music from other apps
-etc.
All stuff which worked great in TRX Force.
Right now to follow a program, you have to go to the programs tab, search for the program, go through the Weeks Tabs, find the workout you did last, and see if you can figure out the next one.
YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW ALL THOSE 👆STEPS EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU DO THIS PROGRAM! NO SAVE OR SUBSCRIBE OPTION!!
They have something which allows you to create a collection which is a work-around, but not simple, and not helpful in organising my workouts for planning purposes.
SUPER DISSAPOINTED. They’re heavily pushing the higher membership account for Live classes, which is just NOT my thing.
TO SUM UP:
I like the on-demand classes and the instructors, but the experience (especially if you’re a newbie) is not great. Some basic timers, save & subscribe options, basic exercise descriptions plus Next Exercise Coming Up notices would go a long way to improving the experience.
One last thing I remember which is super annoying is if you’re in the middle of a workout, and you want to rewind it or pause it, then you tap to resume, the video controls stay on the screen, unless you tap again. So, if you’re in the middle of a workout, you have to stop and go to tap the screen again for the controls to disappear, or they stay on the screen for the remainder of the workout. Super annoying.
A basic
So buggy
I wish the developers became customers of their app….I’m sure it would change quickly so it would actually work and be user friendly
Huge fan of TRX
Looking forward to trying this for the first time today! Use the TRX with so many clients & an excellent full body workout guaranteed!
Awful. It’s needs to to change back to the last format.
Following these “classes” is horrible.
It’s so much better to have a set a exercises that you see before you start with a count in and down for each exercise and rest.
The app could be improved by building your own workouts and set your own durations for exercise and rest.
Please please please change it back.
Good but would be better with an exercise section.
Overall it’s really good but would be nice if there was an “exercises” section so you can look through different exercises that focus on different muscles etc.
Can’t sign in
When attempting to login I get a message telling me my account does not exist, it’s the same account that works on the TRX app on my phone. Any help?
No app rotate
App doesn't have a landscape rotate on iPhone or ipad which is incredibly annoying when trying to do a workout following the videos.
As for the membership, seems ok ok but could get the same or better free
Don’t bother unless you like in app purchases
The old app had the exercises listed, with useful videos of them.
You could create your own workout in the app, and save them.
This is really useful if you have specific exercises to help with injury rehab, which is why I started using TRX in the first place.
Now, this app doesn’t let you do that - you are forced into paying for a “session”.
It’s become merely a tool to get money out of you.
Pity, as the old app was really good.
Not good enough
I pay for this and in the majority of times it is bugging. Its the summer so want to workout outside but if you do not have full wifi or a great hotspot it stops streaming. Then the trx loading screen stays blocked. Would be helpful if we could download the workouts. Very frustrating as i love trx!
