It’s a real shame that Elon Musk is doing everything he can to ruin twitter, and breaking third party clients is just one more nail in twitter’s coffin. Thank you to the Tapbots team, I’ve really enjoyed everything you’ve worked on, and I’m looking forward to supporting Ivory
RIP Tweetbot, it seems we hardly knew ye. Used it for 10+ years, and it is what we wanted from Twitter… a chronological list of tweets from your followers with no ads. Elon did them dirty, so now it’s onwards and upwards to Ivory. Toot toot!
An amazing Twitter client, loved it for a decade and destroyed in a day by a capricious idiot. Haven’t been back on Twitter since, bring on Ivory.
This is (and I’ve tried a few) by far the best Twitter experience.
App is generally great. But there seems to be a bug with the keyboard (at least I think it is a Tweetbot bug, haven’t seen it in any other apps) where the keyboard dismisses for no apparent reason while I am typing.
There is no better Twitter client and to be honest Tweetbot is probably the reason why I keep using Twitter after all these years. People complaining about the official app should give a try with Tweetbot.
Looks nice but is lacking very basic features. Some of that is because of limitations of the Twitter API but a lot of it is due to product decisions. You would expect if you’re paying for a Twitter client it would at least have feature parity with the free stock app. Not so here. If you buy this (now a monthly/annual subscription fee) you will still need to keep and use the stock Twitter app for all of the occasions when you need a basic feature that this app is missing. Positives: 1. A lot nicer to look at than stock Twitter. Negatives: 1. New subscription model can’t be justified when the app is missing most of the features of the Free stock Twitter app. 2. No new features since Tweetbot 5. 3. Search function is useless. 4. No scheduling tweets. 5. No access to Spaces. 6. No access to audio tweets. 7 Weak list support. You really need to make/edit the list elsewhere and just view it here. 8. No thread support. Has a weird “topic” system instead which is painful to use.
