Why is it still showing up?

murrayalex on

Been unusable since January 2023 but still showing up in the App Store in the top 3 searches…which is cruel as it’s a sad reminder of how rubbish X is compared to the majesty of this old twitter client…1 star because it really should not be showing up anymore

You could have warned us before downloading

I understand the issues behind why you can no longer offer access to Twitter on this app, but nowhere is it said on the app page and information. Why is the app misled as one that still operates to provide Twitter services when it does no such thing anymore! Just downloaded a useless app on my phone for no reason except to promote another social messaging app. Just be transparent, people would be more sympathetic that way.

Inform potential users this app is a non starter

Since Twitter started charging for API access effectively nobbling existing clients the market has become an official Twitter ™ client access only. Surely a monopoly scenario if ever there was one. Regardless, shouldn’t the description for Tweetbot be updated to reflect this sorry situation and limit misleading the potential for user disappointment?

Hugely missed

mgmu99 on

Had no idea how much I relied upon this to keep abreast of matters and keep in touch with people. El Musko’s actions have been life changing I’m sure for others as well as me. Mastodon/Ivory sadly is not an alternative because barely any of the accounts I follow on Twitter use it. Hoping one day some sense comes to prevail and Tweetbot rises from the ashes. A phoenix icon would be my suggestion…

I miss Tweetbot so much

Why update the app if you can’t use it

What a pointless update. A desperate attempt to push Mastodon.

With you all the way

Been using Tweetbot for years as a civilised way of connecting with people and news sources. So, now I’ll wait for Ivory and then it’s Mastodon here I come. I am one customer Tapbots is not going to lose anytime soon.

Ivory much hope ivory launches soon!

Do you see what I did there? Tweetbot is a fantastic app, taken out of service like a Lego masterpiece smashed down by a jealous older brother. Dust yourselves off, Tapbot Devs, and know you will rose again in the form of Ivory.

Long time user

Cider-man on

This is sad day. I have been using Tweetbot a long time. App itself has always been very polish and extremely user friendly. I also liked the design. Twitter killing Tweetbot i will be also leaving twitter for good. Thank you Tweetbot and Tapbits for your hard work.

Thank you for Tapbot

You’ve been the way I’ve used Twitter for longer than I care to remember. I was even a happy Netbot user back in the day. I’m really sorry the chapter ends this way, but I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues with Ivory. Good luck, and thanks!
