VERO - True Social

If you are fed up with algorithms, ads, trends and templates, give Vero a try. I’ve only just started with it, but wow, it’s like a breath of fresh air. A clean, uncomplicated interface that makes it simple to share and search. No glitches to speak of (touch wood) and lots of quality, original work by real people - the kind of stuff that Instagram just won’t show you. Very impressed so far.

I joined Vero back in 2018 but didn’t really start being part of the community until the middle of 2022. I love this platform! If you care about how photos look, Vero allows photos uncropped and top quality. Vero is not revenue based either so no ads or algorithms. The Vero community itself is unique in a good way. Respectful interaction and caring is the way I would describe it.

Down load the app. Won’t let me sign up. Keeps saying my mobile number is invalid. Waste of time downloading it. Do yourself a favour. DONT.

I love the idea. I have an iPhone 8, my phone is smaller than average. I find that the thick borders around everything makes images really small. This would be nice on a bigger screen but I am currently squinting at it because the text is small, the photos are small, I feel like I need to zoom in to everything. I would be more interested in using this regularly if borders were removed from the home screen and profile screens.

It’s very disappointing that such a promising app has stalled and stalled quite some time ago. Ongoing glitches with the photo album access on iOS where selecting a particular folder results in contents of another being displayed. But worst of all the horrible contrast and absolute inability to change font size. I feel I’m straining my eyes every time I’ve tried to use the app over the many years it’s been available. The obsession with the colour scheme I feel is ruining my eyes. It’s also pointless making suggestions to the developer team, nothing ever comes of it. Just like all other social media platforms, you don’t listen.

Great app dev team but your latest iteration for iOS is now extremely slow to open and responsiveness to actions (liking, scrolling etc.) has also slowed down considerably. All for a new functionality (live commenting, whatever that is) which is of no use to me as I've no interest in the Snyderverse event

The first thing I see when I join is a suggestion to follow "Wasted Talent", which turns out to be doing commercials for Monster drinks and Billabong... From hero to zero in one minute for me. As the saying goes "if it's free, you are the product"... Big disappointed. Fooled again.

Very happy with this relaxed friendly platform.

So far so good - love how I’m not bombarded with Insta spam - life’s way too short 👍
