Absolutely brilliant app. The voice reads so naturally and smoothly, ability to modify speed is neat too. Only caveat is that for legal reasons it’s unable to use DRM material - which is pretty much all books from library or book selling apps. Still invaluable for reading articles, websites and anything written by yourself or ppl u know first hand.
Used this app for years but it’s recently changed to a subscription model. I changed to Speech Central and found it has better voices and more options for a lifetime price.
I’m annoyed as I purchased the app a little over 4 years ago and at the time it was a one off purchase, now I’m expected to pay on going subscription fees for as long as I want the product! I emailed the support team and no answer but we have ongoing development cost, they should have thought of that before they offered a fixed price back then! Not happy!!!
There is no mention that it is a subscription app in the app description. You can’t do anything in the app without signing up for the subscription.

If I had to pick my favourite app. This would be it. It’s the reason I did not buy a google pixel.
I can not say enough about this app, it has helped me plough through my readings at university. I’m not the fast reader and so it’s been the best resource I’ve found so far to help me! Love it!
With Covid 19 forcing work from home the law school at waikato University has put text on line invade New Zealand has to do more that 28 days lock down 4 of 4. This readerlets the on line required text be read out so that much much more of the required text is available when tied and reading is still a must. Best money spent.
This app has been kept current for over 7 years! I read much online content this way. Maybe a watch app might be possible? But already I find it near perfect.
I have brought this app without fully reading the specs etc. Kindle and iBooks can not be read back to you due to copyright DMS or something like that. So my idea of falling to sleep listening to a book being read back to me have failed.
