Good and Bad

DaveLIRL on

The magazine is generally quite good and informative. However subscription to the magazine via your Apple account doesn’t give you access to the online content on Wired.com. This is really frustrating.

Great content but issue library is poor

JamesGallagher on

I really enjoy the magazine but the library functionality is a poor experience. I’m behind on my reading of issues so I typically have a number of issues downloaded and catch up on reading while on long flights or similar distraction free occasions. My expected app behavior is for these issues to remain in the library until I read them and for my position in an issue to persist (this has been prior app behaviour so I’m not asking for new functionality). Instead issues are frequently unloaded and my reading position lost. Device storage isn’t an issue - the space for the downloads is there. A less frustrating issue is when you ‘Get’ an issue it immediately tries to load the cover which hasn’t downloaded yet. I’m not on a slow connection - 54/20Mbps over wifi so this immediate open behaviour should be better handled in respect of app content which has or hasn’t already downloaded.

Does not work on new iPhone 6 plus. Possibly an ios8 issue but magazine will not load. It's a shame coz it's the one magazine I would be willing to fully subscribe to...

iPad iOS8

Magazine does not work on iPad iOS 8…all my purchases have been removed and cannot install any new items! Please fix….

Getting Worse

HuntingBears01 on

I will not be renewing my subscription when it expires. This app has been getting gradually worse, it's very slow and the mag is full of pointless animations that serve no useful purpose other than to make you wait until it finishes. The worst culprits are adverts for the wired conference. The navigation is also terribly inconsistent, in fact it's that bad that they have to place hints on every page directing the reader how to navigate the article. It's a shame really as this WAS the best magazine app in the iPad when I first subscribed.

UnWired...and Tired

Crushercrights on

This is the digital mag which you fall in and out of love. They push the boundaries at Wired with this download format but often i think they try to do too much. Often buggy, inconsistent, unreliable, style over substance. After 2 years I am tiring of the unreliability of the mag, the unavailability of quick downloads, and the lack of clarity on the basics of my sub to the mag.

Problem

DJHatton on

Purchased the first individual magazine. Now, without ever subscribing, a new one downloads and I get charged by apple. Still waiting for support, still getting charged.

Very dissatisfied - still no background downloading!!

bobby2044 on

Get your act together Wired and utilise the features apple provides. What's the point upgrading your app to support ios5 and then don't support the principal news feature....

Shame

Olearydc on

Would have been great if it was able to actually download issues?

Superb

Booms16 on

A great magazine given proper iPad treatment. Really shows the potential of the medium.
