Yale Smart Living Alarm

Ever since updating the app I have sporadically had issue with the app not being able to set the alarm or load any of the settings. Was working great until the update

App completely broken at the moment, with a flickering login screen and no fields can be clicked. Update: fixed with reinstall

I like the app does the job fairly well needs still bit polishing but overall great. The only thing I’d raise is that the it wants my password even though I have Touch ID enabled - I haven’t seen that with any of my other app.

Nice system, but instructions are terrible. Took way too long to set up with many bugs. Once working, it’s very good. HOWEVER.. can the developer PLEASE make the options for home and away for each device be independent for full and partial, or provide more options. I’ve a PIR in the entrance hall, but I can’t set it off on partial and timer on full alarm. If I have it off on partial (when I’m in the house), I can only have it set to burglar when on full. So when I come back into the house, there’s a delay on the door so I can turn off the alarm, but when I’m about to turn off the alarm, the PIR sets off the alarm. You’d have to have the alarm set up to understand this. So again, can the developer PLEASE put the option in ‘Settings>Alarm Settings>Devices>Device>Device mode’ to have off when on partial and timed when on full in the next update. Thanks!!

This app takes ages to open. If you’re waiting at you front door in the rain while it loads, it would make me think twice abt buying these products.

Stuck on Step 3 of Setup Wizard “Account Setup”. Fill in all details in the format specified, the “Done” button turns yellow, I press it and it goes grey and spins for a few seconds and then goes back to being yellow and says “Done” again. Doesn’t proceed to Step 4, doesn’t email me or text me anything and doesn’t give an error or any other feedback. Have tried on the wife’s phone and with countless variations on password, PIN code, email address etc, all give the same frustrating result. Customer services closed and it’s bank holiday so will be 3 days until I can even speak to anyone. Really poor!

The app is often unresponsive and will not actually reflect the state of the alarm system. For example, even after having changed the battery in a particular sensor the hub still beeps and the app still says to change batteries. It says things like ‘tap for options’ without making a single option available. I only got this alarm system because it was relatively cheap and I am not at all impressed.

This app is truly terrible. Frequent login issues, often the state of my system is not accurately reflected (saying it’s armed when it isn’t). The whole selling point of this alarm system is the “smart” feature, so when the smart part doesn’t work most of the time what on Earth is the point? Probably best to avoid Yale completely imo.

Have had it installed for a week and it works fine. I had low hopes given the other recent reviews but I’ve had no issues. I think it’s a case of getting used to how it works and ensuring you have a solid wifi.

Alarm status often glitches within the app dashboard, more so since recently updated. We get push notifications that app is armed or disarmed, but if you open app and look at the status it’s armed? Have started just using keypad, as at least that work, but this system is very cheap and nasty - we only have it as previous homeowner installed it! 😑
