Yale Smart Living Alarm

The APP works well, it’s pretty easy to install and setup all the devices. Could be useful an integration with Apple Shortcuts, now that Apple doesn’t support 3rd party widgets anymore.

On the App Store is says manage everything basically but in the app it doesn’t seem to have any way to rename the inputs. When installing I get an SMS that says PIR 1 tamper etc. Good news I have an account and it’s communicating with me but that’s all. Bad news is that it seems to be manned by the crew of the Mary Celeste. There is no list of devices within the app just a generic TICK all is well. Have I missed something?

Had alarm for four years and it’s been excellent, today I had a small problem which was caused by a server error, I reported the problem and received a reply within a couple of hours explaining how the problem occurred and how to fix it. The alarm is now working properly again, this is the advantage of buying a product from a reputable company.

Since iOS 18, notifications are not working anymore even if the settings are on.

Could never add motion sensors while trying to replace 1 that's said tampered. Couldn't even remove it. Each time asking me to log on again and asking for phone that they didn't recognise. Avoid this trash please

While it’s not the best app ever it does work reasonably well for my use case. However, after the ios18 update (Apple removed the old style widget panel) there is no new style widget for this app.

I’ve had this system for a couple of years now, while I’ve had no trouble with the alarm, I am sick to death of the app asking me to log in which is annoying as the only time I use the app is when I really need to, instead of messing around with finding my login details .

App is fairly straightforward to use but one thing that is odd is for your door sensor, if it’s on your front door, there is no way to have that trigger the alarm immediately if you “Home Arm” the system. The only time I need a delay on the sensor for entry is if the system is fully armed. Would have been great to also allow zones or more than just 2 arm modes.

Are you actually developing this app Yale? It’s been the same basic, poor functionality for years now. Why are you still selling the alarm if you’re ignoring all the advice for improvement you’ve gotten over the years? Clearly people are all having the same issues with: 1. Useless watch app needing the phone to be logged out and back in before it can be used 2. Random app log outs so you don’t get critical notifications. 3. No option for custom arm modes 4. No permanently armed sensor option 5. randomly tripping smoke detector (usually in the middle of the night scaring the s£”&e out of everyone) 6. Difficult sensor battery changes Come on!!! This are basic fixes IN SOFTWARE! Just fix it! You must have sold thousands and thousands of these systems and add-ons. Please let us know if we should wait for fixes or ditch the system and buy something else before we fail victim to a burglary!
