What an awful app, books are way more expensive than they should be, would much rather support the authors directly than pay for some greedy third party through dodgy micro transactions like this. Just a bad way to read books

This feels a bit shady.

So this might not be a problem on Yonder’s end, but as someone living in Australia, I can guarantee that 0.99 USD does not convert to 1.99 AUD. The price has been chalked up to an unholy level. I got tired of waiting for chapters and decided to just buy 100 coins before seeing that it would cost me 2 dollars. 2 dollars and I can’t event afford more than 3 chapters. Tf? Now, I did a previous negative review about the ridiculous pricing. But after using the app, it’s not too bad. I can handle a chapter a day. But seeing a single USD more than double in price during conversion to AUD has got me a bit bamboozled I must say.

Wild prices.

I was reading a web series which disappeared, and turns out Yonder picked it up. I was happy to find the series again. Then I see that almost $25 won’t even let me unlock 100 chapters. So I either have to be drip fed 1 chapter daily or pray that the series I am reading gets a 10 chapter free pass (which would normally run you $3). Lawd hath mercy on my wallet.

Review

Yonder is an amazing app and as someone who recently got it I am really happy with it. The only thing I would suggest is a “to be read” option as I am getting hooked on so many books but can only read one at a time.

Originals or translated?

I can't tell whether they are translated or original novels? Did i miss that or is it not shown? Either way, please add something to distinguish the two, or make it more obvious if it's already there. Thanks

Somehow with even more predatory micro transactions than an EA game.

Normally I’d be fine paying for a book—hell, a lot of the ones on here are actually pretty decent and I’d happily buy them, but when you get a book on kindle or audible you’re normally paying for the whole thing at once. For some reason, this app has a per chapter system, and it’s utterly ridiculous. I would give one star, but to be fair the interface is really nice. 2.5/3
