Spectacular app. The biggest missing feature is support for tool switching via the Apple Pencil Pro — would love to see that added :)
I use zotero daily, couldn’t work without it. Two feature requests, 1) make use of the pencil pro new squeeze feature so we can select different options like pen and highlight quickly. 2) have an option to save annotations directly to pdf so I can use a different reader on my Mac If these were added it would be 5 stars easily.
What happened to the highlighting function??
I love this app for managing papers, however I like to write notes with formulas and illustrations to help me explain things in the paper, and the current "sticky note" only allows pure texts. Is it possible to add something like a sticky note where I can draw stuff and write formulas with Apple Pencil? Or at least can I add a pdf page or rotate the pages to the files? Thanks so much for developing this amazing tool!
If you hoped this would let you research remotely, free from a traditional desktop computer, you will be disappointed. Zotero Mobile does not yet support essential features like snapshotting webpages, colored tags (the only suggested way to maintain to-read/have-read/in-progress statuses), and many others. This suffices only to reference already-saved research and to read a small subset of it (PDFs only, currently) on the go. Expect to use the desktop app for any real work.
…and it’s open source, funded by a non-profit company (so we don't have another Mandeley), and updated frequently. What’s not to love?
I'm attempting to download the PDF files on my iPad, which were previously synced on my laptop. However, I've been encountering an error message stating: "Error: Unable to unzip snapshot." Even after restarting the iPad and reinstalling Zotero, the problem remains unresolved. Strangely, following the reinstallation, none of the previously stored files in Zotero on my iPad are accessible anymore. The same error message now appears for every file. Urgently seeking assistance to resolve this issue.
I would really love a widget for the iPad home screen that allows you to easily access recently read pdfs.
The iPad app stops syncing completely after a certain amount of time, even if I manual refresh the list. The syncing worked in the beginning when I just logged into the account. The only way to temporarily solve this is logging out then logging back in, but this issue never ceases to appear later. It works well on iPhone, Mac, Windows. iPad is the only exception.
