Have you already downloaded Zwift? If so, you’re in the right place—Zwift Companion makes Zwifting better.
It’s like a remote control for Zwift that you can use pre-ride, during your ride, and post-ride.
Zwift Companion is a great place to plan your next activity. With all the events in one place and thousands to choose from, you're sure to discover like-minded athletes who want to get fit together. You can also find and join clubs on Zwift Companion.
You'll see rides chosen specifically for you based on your preferences, fitness level, and upcoming events. You can even set reminders, so you're never late for a ride.
You'll also find a bunch of cool information on Zwift Companion's home screen, like the number of people currently Zwifting, as well as any friends or contacts you're following.
Have Zwift equipment? You can also update the firmware with the Companion app.
DURING YOUR RIDE
With Zwift Companion, you can send RideOns, text with other Zwifters, bang U-Turns, choose between route options, and more. You can also adjust the resistance of your trainer on the fly during structured workouts, to increase or decrease intensity. Want to turn erg mode on or off, take screenshots, or see riders nearby and their stats? All of this happens on Zwift Companion.
POST-RIDE
Take a deep dive into your ride data and the folks you rode with. You can also check in on your progress for any Tours you’re participating in and the goals you set for yourself.

Is Zwift Companion legit?
🤔 The Zwift Companion app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
2025 Jan bug report - text disappearing from iPhone screen regularly in latest version when chatting in game.
(update solution found to constant drop outs - turn on aero plane mode and then turn WiFi in. Works perfectly. Seems that iPhone switches between WiFi and mobile which causes companion app to drop out. Must be in same WiFi and WiFi frequency as Zwift game. Must also been logged in to same Zwift account in Zwift game and Zwift companion app).
My biggest issue with the companion app is that it constantly drops out and doesn’t reconnect. It’s very frustrating when in a group ride or event. Can’t chat or use power ups. I don’t understand why the companion app needs to be on the same WiFi as the Zwift game. Why? If the user is the same, the companion app should just work. Very frustrating. When the app works…..Select your events on this app ahead of tine and schedule the meeting directly in your calendar. Can view your recent activity rides and view your performance metrics. Great to text chat to others in game. Provides a good map that you can view at three different zoom. If you’re sweeping in a group ride, you can see nearby riders which helps when sweeping. I love Zwift and I love this app. Note you must have your phone and main Zwift (ie on computer or appletv) all on the same WIFI for the companion app to link to your Zwift ride.
Russia sympathisers
Users should be aware that they will ride with avatars carrying Russian flags on the screen - they did not neutralise them like the Olympics. . Unlike a lot of companies who chose to not support the genocide against Ukraine, Zwift makes it clear they not only want Russian money but is prepared to proudly display the Russian flag against riders.
Glitchy as
Frequently stops working, crashes, forgets I’m riding a session, can’t get erg mode on and off, loose access to messages during events and workouts. Right now I’m riding and I want to switch up the watts but I can’t because THIS INFURIATING APP ISNT WORKING. AGAIN.
Doesn’t work
It doesn’t matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall I still can’t make it work or give ride ons in the game or use any if the functions. It used to work but it doesn’t anymore.
OK but missing some features
The Companion app is a bit strange. It is a handy tool to communicate with other riders but is not useful in planning rides in Zwift or monitoring your progress. There’s no easy way to view your XP but you can see your Drops even though you can’t use them in the Companion app. You can’t configure your rider avatar. There is a round-about way to view routes to plan what route you’re going to take on but it’s very difficult to see what routes are on rotation and which you haven’t completed. The leader board is meaningless. If you run the Zwift app on another device it’s a pain to have to go there to do things like configure your training plan. I guess this app would be less disappointing if there was another app to do such thing’s quickly.
Mint
Mint as
App
Love how you can see w/kg on the companion app while racing, because it keeps me focused. When doing a solo ride and efforts on a course l Would love a lap button.
Noticed on my Companion App erg & incline are missing 🤔
Works well good companion to zwift
Overall works well to complement zwift ride. What’s missing is ability to reconnect heart rate or trainer whilst still riding.
Decent app
The zwift app is decent, nothing special cluttered yes, ugly layout yes, but all your rides are there in form so it’s good for seeing that but it’s not mind blowing
