CozyBlanket includes in-app purchases to fully unlock its import/export options and advanced features.
For the best experience, Apple Pencil is recommended, but not required.
## A complete suite for model preparation and optimization
CozyBlanket can perform manual retopology, seam-based UV unwrapping, manual packing, normal maps and vertex colors baking. With CozyBlanket you can take your high poly models and manually prepare them for animation, video games, real-time rendering and surfacing. All with a single app.
With CozyBlanket you can move the technical, manual work of creating 3D assets from your desktop to your iPad. By using a minimal UI and its innovative UX you can perform retopology, uv and baking as an enjoyable, game-like process similar to solving a puzzle, from the comfort of your sofa, on the train or while enjoying a hot chocolate at your favorite cafe.
CozyBlanket was designed to be able to handle high resolution meshes coming from scans and desktop DCCs in mobile devices. Its performance is mostly limited by the iPad available memory.
CozyBlanket allows you to import a high-poly sculpt and export a game-ready asset that looks the same, all without common pipeline issues such as scale mismatches, tangent space errors and snapping artifacts.
## A different approach to retopology, UV and baking
CozyBlanket was designed to be beginner friendly and approachable, but very powerful. You can learn CozyBlanket's fundamentals and start working with it just by seeing it in action. From there, you can start digging into the included instructive tutorial slides and Action Gallery to discover its advanced features.
All tooling was designed to take the most advantage of Apple Pencil and multitouch screens. When doing retopology, you create new quads, patches and grids by directly drawing on the high poly mesh. You can also transform the UV coordinates and texture position by using multitouch over the 3D mesh.
CozyBlanket actions are also coherent between different tasks. Fox example, its Relax action behaves identically when using it for smoothing topology positions, UV coordinates or the baking cage's shape.
## Integrates with desktop software and pipelines
CozyBlanket Standard version supports network functionality, This way it can be integrated with desktop software and pipelines by streaming geometry over the local network. No exporting and transferring files between devices is needed.
CozyBlanket provides a network protocol that can be fully scripted to fit the requirements of your studio pipelines and custom tooling.

It’s an OK app but missing alot of features for its price
This is a very basic retopo tool, especially for the rather high price tag of $140.00! It’s missing basic features like sliding final edge loops (you can only slide an edge loop if it’s between 2 other edge loops). It’s also really difficult to retopo things like fingers or other cylinder type shapes because it doesn’t have a knife cut tool that can be used to create new topology by creating a cut across the reference model where there isn’t already retopology, so you have to painstakingly draw each polygon while trying to rotate the cylinder, leg or finger etc into a position where you can draw the next polygon. For this reason it’s not really any good for character retopo…. I can retopo a leg or arm in seconds using Blender or 3D Coat, this app takes MUCH longer as you’ll have to manually draw each poly all the way down the arm/leg. Also very limited on finger gestures, doesn’t even have a 3 finger redo function which I found odd considering it has 2 finger undo? Also haven’t been any updates for nearly half a year so I’m not sure if the devs are very active on the project, which is definitely something to consider if you’re planning on parting with such a large chunk of cash.
Awesome but incomplete.
I just can’t for the life of me figure out why people are rating this wonderful app so poorly; there’s nothing quite like it on the market right now, anywhere.
I work as a concept artist and my work often requires me to juggle 2D references, sculpts and retopology simultaneously while preparing a model for production. Very specific retopology is often required for this workflow, as stylised character meshes often need that manual touch to preserve details or control shading, etc.
There is nothing quite like being able to simply draw the topology onto the sculpt so directly. Cozyblanket’s shortcuts and control scheme is very intuitive and efficient once you get to learn it. The program itself does a fantastic job of teaching new users how to use its tools, a simple tap allowing you to watch videos of each tool in action, along with an explanation of how it works. It’s not just the drawing either; CozyBlanket has one of the best smooth relax tools I’ve ever experienced, and it’s exceptionally powerful when combined with the vertex pin function. Even the extrude and clone patch tools are a joy to use, utilising the screen position and motion sensor in such a clever way.
Yes, Blender has Retopoflow and other useful manual retopology tools, but the experience just isn’t the same. I can’t draw in Retopoflow without fiddling around with Bsurfaces, and that isn’t nearly as accurate or intuitive. Furthermore, I work remotely, so having an entire suite of production tools on my iPad Pro is invaluable to my workflow. Nomad sculpt pairs amazingly with this app. I can’t chip away at my retopology using Blender while I’m out shopping or moving around the house.
This app is a little overpriced, but so far I’ve found the price to be well worth it for what it offers. It’s still a little ugly, but nothing a little elbow grease and experience can’t navigate. I’m very thankful for the devs choosing not to support a subscription model. I feel that if the price were lowered to compete with Procreate and Artstudio Pro, more hobbyists would be willing to try it out.
Right now, the only major issue I have with it is that the clone tool will more often than not crash the program, and the camera can have trouble dealing with small decals such as fingertips and such. But otherwise I couldn’t recommend this more for people who are very serious about their topology, such as 3D creators trying to achieve NPR workflow.
Great concept but too pricey and still buggy.
The concept and experience overall is amazing. However still needs refinement. Camera goes crazy sometimes. No redo gesture for what I can see. Still missing some tools like poly strokes, patches, knife and some others.
Retopologize in iPad this way can be fun, convenient and even relaxing, but when you ask for 140$ for such a niche tool you are putting this toll in a professional price point level. All that in a world where Blender is free and you can get Retopoflow for 65. Retopoflow which is planned to be included as a native plugin for free in the future. All that also keeping in mind you have to deal with the poly number limitations iPad hardware might have. Also sculpting tools like Nomad are around 25$. Procreate is 10$ for God sake.
This feels to me like price is been pull up that much trying to make the most of the fact that iOS users are willing to pay more for their apps, even too much sometimes.
40$ would have been a “I’m going to buy it even if it’s a bit buggy, or if don’t use that much and wait for updates” situation.
140$ is a I don need this that much and I will wait until it gets several updates and then maybe and probably pass situation.
Waiting for a price adjustment an some updates.
Amazing work anyway. Really looking forward for a price adjustment and few updates.
Have potential, need polish, price a bit high
Overall impression, this is the first great fun retopology app on iPad. I like the use of Apple Pencil drawing to draw retopo.
Finger gestures needed to make it more fun experience, I think Undo is missing.
There is issue when rotating 3D objects sometimes pivot camera is out of whack, maybe because the model came like that (pivot incorrect).
Current pricing is quite dear, maybe have new users discount at around $50-80.

Ridiculously too expensive for such a weak app 👎🏼👎🏼
Cheated?
I purchased a plan that had certain features then a new more expensive plan was created and all of the features were moved to that plan? I do t like those types of practices.
I wonder if this can be reported..
So, where are the app updates?
Bought this app a while ago, based on its promise and wanted to support further development. Now, 10 months later and no more updates. Not worth the price if there are no updates.
-later, 12 months, nothing. Dropping to 2 stars.
Great app, kinda pricey
Not a bad app, but a few features are missing considering the price, and furthermore the gestures can be kinda iffy in some situations.
- My biggest feature request, above anything else, is the ability to view and hide pieces of target mesh geometry individually, currently you can either use the lasso or isolate one piece. I want to be able to toggle each piece in a “scene viewer” style tab. It’s unbelievably annoying to try to isolate and work on two or three pieces rather than just one and it shouldn’t be this hard!!!
-Gestures work less and less the further off you get from your target mesh which can occasionally be necessary for really low poly stuff.
-Settings don’t save well, my toolset keeps removing the erase tool every time
It’s time to fix all everything broken
It’s a great idea for an app but there som many things broken. You have to draw lines over and over for them to work. That goes for retopology and uv mapping. It’s a pain to save and you never know what is saved or auto saved. Uv maps are export mirrored. Tools do too many things instead of one thing well so you are constantly fighting with them. Texture preview doesn’t work at all. Every time you uv unwrap you have to pack islands again for no reason.
Scam
I paid 20 for this, tried the app and it 90% didn’t work. Then try and give it a second chance months later and yeah it is still trash. Now its asking for another 20$ for me to give it a third chance. I use to really admire the dev that worked on this but wow is this disappointing. I thought he would have some level of pride in his work but this just a broken cash grab. Nothing cozy about it, more like being blanketed in flaming dog crap.
