CozyBlanket includes in-app purchases to fully unlock its import/export options and advanced features.
For the best experience, Apple Pencil is recommended, but not required.
## A complete suite for model preparation and optimization
CozyBlanket can perform manual retopology, seam-based UV unwrapping, manual packing, normal maps and vertex colors baking. With CozyBlanket you can take your high poly models and manually prepare them for animation, video games, real-time rendering and surfacing. All with a single app.
With CozyBlanket you can move the technical, manual work of creating 3D assets from your desktop to your iPad. By using a minimal UI and its innovative UX you can perform retopology, uv and baking as an enjoyable, game-like process similar to solving a puzzle, from the comfort of your sofa, on the train or while enjoying a hot chocolate at your favorite cafe.
CozyBlanket was designed to be able to handle high resolution meshes coming from scans and desktop DCCs in mobile devices. Its performance is mostly limited by the iPad available memory.
CozyBlanket allows you to import a high-poly sculpt and export a game-ready asset that looks the same, all without common pipeline issues such as scale mismatches, tangent space errors and snapping artifacts.
## A different approach to retopology, UV and baking
CozyBlanket was designed to be beginner friendly and approachable, but very powerful. You can learn CozyBlanket's fundamentals and start working with it just by seeing it in action. From there, you can start digging into the included instructive tutorial slides and Action Gallery to discover its advanced features.
All tooling was designed to take the most advantage of Apple Pencil and multitouch screens. When doing retopology, you create new quads, patches and grids by directly drawing on the high poly mesh. You can also transform the UV coordinates and texture position by using multitouch over the 3D mesh.
CozyBlanket actions are also coherent between different tasks. Fox example, its Relax action behaves identically when using it for smoothing topology positions, UV coordinates or the baking cage's shape.
## Integrates with desktop software and pipelines
CozyBlanket Standard version supports network functionality, This way it can be integrated with desktop software and pipelines by streaming geometry over the local network. No exporting and transferring files between devices is needed.
CozyBlanket provides a network protocol that can be fully scripted to fit the requirements of your studio pipelines and custom tooling.

Updated: It is worth now.
Update:
It’s quite a while on down the road now since my original review and can happily say this is worth picking up if you need this type of tool.
The gripes I had with weird input registration and not performing correct actions are still relevant but don’t seem to be as frequent.
I haven’t yet used the baking functionality but will update this review again if there’s anything bad about it.
Good job bringing CozyBlanket to a much more polished feature rich state!
Old review:
Tried to retopo several different objects, even primitives and found numerous problems with basic user input. Drawing straight over an existing single edge with Apple Pencil makes a loop, except for when it doesn’t. Sometimes it works if you follow the flow you’d like with the line, except for when it doesn’t. Maybe this time I need to cross multiple edges? Maybe this is one of the times where I need to repeat all of the above repeatedly at different points of an edge while wearing red socks, doing a merry moonlight jig and singing the forbidden incantation to the spirits of beyond? Want to slide a loop? Cool tap it twice then move and oh dear, it moved for the first few pixels, but now it’s out of sync with the pencils movement and instead snaps arbitrarily to the boundary of other existing edges. Move the pencil side to side, top to bottom, draw a Spirograph, anything you can imagine, your edge isn’t going to be where you want for the most part, so go nuts with it and enjoy yourself! The intro videos are great and straightforward. In practice however literally 8/10 times the tools did not work as intended. I defy you to retopo something simple like a cylinder without removing your eyelids and swallowing them in frustration. It’s a great tool, in theory. This ain’t it though folks, at least not at this time, at this level of development and extraordinarily disgusting price of £80! If it worked perfectly? Sure, I could reach at maybe 30 for the convenience of working on iPad on an app which in any other environment would be a trivial plugin or script. I’d like to support it and see more tools on ipad, I really would. Call this an early release mr developer face, and charge accordingly.
Could of been 5 stars… greed
If this was on pc i would understand the price in comparison to the apps in the market. But the marketplace in which it is set, the mobile apps market, its unlikely that most people will spend over 10 pounds on an app. If you really wanted to make some money, whoever made this. Make the price 10 pounds and then you might actually get some decent sales, and reviews to. But this is not balanced with the App Store, its just shock to anyone who ends up seeing it after learning to use this. This is a great example of how business owners ruin themselves from greed, when giving get you more in the long run.
Great App. Worth the price.
This is a great application. It’s fun to use and works like a charm.
The fact the I can retopo, uv and bake maps on my IPad Pro is insane. I hope they add more features.
I think the bad reviews regarding price are unfair. The people who make these apps have to eat and pay rent, or are they supposed to just give it away for free?
Seems good but way too pricey for what it is
Tried out the demo and found it to be a bit buggy. Specifically couldn’t get the merge uvs gesture to work at all. Don’t know if that means it’s locked to the full price version or just broken but it’s a basic function to merge uvs so either way that’s concerning.
It’s good it has a demo version but a fully featured trial would be better. Not being able to try out the different features to see if they even work as promised but being expected to fork out £79.99 is crazy.
From a business standpoint, I think pricing this cheaper would get more people to purchase it, as I for one, will not be buying at such a price.
The lite version is priced similarly to the full version of Nomad and Forger! Paying that for fully functional sculpting programs, one of which has modeling capabilities but then paying 4 times that for the next part of the pipeline makes no sense. So even the lite version with its basic features doesn’t seem worth it in comparison to the value for money of those apps. The full version has been priced more in line with Topogun, a similar program for desktop that has been around for a very long time. If we’re pricing apps similarly to their desktop equivalents then you’d expect Nomad and Forger to be hundreds of dollars like Zbrush. Nobody would buy them at that price and I think a lot of people wouldn’t buy this at £79.99 either. If the full version was reduced to around £30 I’d probably pay it but till then I’ll stick to taking my sculpts to the PC to retopo and uv.
It’s going to be great, but…
I’ve just been trying the demo version. It’s amazing, and feels like a bit of the future. But the price is simply out of my range. I appreciate that this is intended to be a serious tool but it’s hard to justify this price when most of us already have access to one form of retopology tool or another. And comparison to apps like Nomad or Procreate and what they can do, doesn’t help. I really hope this project is successful because it’s a great idea very thoughtfully done, and it’s clearly going somewhere. But not for me at this price. I say that reluctantly, I really want it! At half the price I would think twice but I would probably go for it. I wonder how many other people would too. I know I’m not alone in being put off by the price as it stands.
It’s awesome but one fatal flaw
The price is fair but they really need to add an auto save and load progress system because the app crashes and I loose all my progress… if they fix this the app would be amazing (I would give it 5 star otherwise)
Other features that would be great is a layer system for multiple different unconnected models in a single fbx/obj file (or to at least have multiple object in a single retopology project), a better more dynamic mirroring system and an unsubdivide button alongside the subdivide one. With these features it may be the best retopology app I think.
EXPENSIVE & GREEDY
Huge follower of Pablo but my goodness the price is stupid. You should know better to build up your portfolio over time as I can imagine with features I would end up paying that amount, but in one £80 purchase like this on an early version of the app that feels like a beta is greedy. Your reputation is turning ugly. DO BETTER
Feels beta quality

Ridiculously too expensive for such a weak app 👎🏼👎🏼
Cheated?
I purchased a plan that had certain features then a new more expensive plan was created and all of the features were moved to that plan? I do t like those types of practices.
I wonder if this can be reported..
