Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks

Absolute waste of time and money, the books they have are obscure and only those that don’t sell well, I downloaded this app to finish books if started on Spotify. It doesn’t even have them. Bad app. I’ll just stay with Spotify.

There are constant issues with the audio player. Even if you have the audiobooks downloaded the player constantly buffers before you start playing in addition you can be in the middle of an audiobook. Everything freezes and you go straight back to the beginning and you’ve gotta try and find where you were last in the audiobook, terrible customer service as well not value for money

I don’t know what they have done behind the scenes since rebranding but the app is incredibly slow now and unreliable. I also appear to have lost a lot of my older saved books so I start listening to a book only to discover a couple of chapters in I have listened to it already. It’s frustrating and disappointing.

There is a limit to how many books you can listen to. Fair enough, BUT if you start a book and decide you dont like the book or the narrator is annoying it counts towards your total. Your allowance is on books started not finished, I have a very narrow band of interest so dont feel like I am getting value for my subscription. Also I have the app on both my ipad and my iphone but I cannot start a book on my ipad go out and listen on my iphone then change back to my ipad. I used to be able to with SCRIBD but Everand is not flexible like this! Am now looking at audible to see how flexible and the number of books per month.

I have had a Scribd account for years, but it was a pleasant surprise when I discovered the wealth of audiobooks available. I’m downloading the latest update at the moment, hoping the reliability of the audio player will be improved. Previously, most times I wanted to start and stop playback, usually when someone wanted to talk to me, I’d have to have several tries at double-tapping my earbuds in order to get playback to obey. Even when hauling out my phone and pressing play or pause on the screen, I’d often need a couple of tries. Really enjoying the app, and hoping technical things will become more stable and reliable.

Having troubles with both laptop version (bottom of some pages cut off) and app (apparently needs an update however it is the latest version making it impossible to use). Hoping these issues will be resolved

Scribd has illegally charged my bank account numerous times, during my membership. They continued to charge me after I canceled my membership and they claim the problem is with Apple and they can’t to anything about it. A quick search online details the numerous stories of this company doing this to people on a regular basis. There support team always reply’s with the same rubbish response, saying they can’t find an account registered ect. This is a reoccurring fraudulent practice and the company continues to play dumb when anyone questions them. Apple should remove this app from the App Store.

I signed up told I would be notified before subscription taken. However today when due I went to pause as I hadn’t got round to using it , to find money already gone. Billed in US dollars so figured would be US time. Cost $16.46 In NZ per month. Cost more than I expected.
