Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks

Eagerly awaiting Everand and Scribd to provide readers with a selection of highlighter colors, including the popular yellow. The default orange-red highlighter is unappealing and lacks aesthetic appeal.

I absolutely love this app. I’m on a tight budget, and the fact I can listen to audiobooks and read ebooks unlimited is amazing! I always recommend this over competitors. I’ve also connected with authors to make sure they get compensated enough when they have their work on here and I haven’t met one with a complaint yet. The search recommendations could be a little better, but that is my only real complaint.

The app used to work quite well but now I’m finding the performance of the Saved folder is terrible. I do have a lot of books and audiobooks saved , so that could be a factor, but I’m using a brand new iPhone 16 Plus and when I open the Saved folder it freezes the whole app and I have to close it. I find that there aren’t good ways to manage your library of read, unread, want to read, etc books in Everand so I was using the Saved folder and applying Finished to the books I read then selecting Hide Finished so my list wasn’t cluttered with things I’d already read. Now it doesn’t seem to be possible to do that because the app crashes / freezes. I’ve been a subscriber for about 5 years and the performance seems to have degraded over that time.

This would be great if it worked and didn't limit your books.

I recently renewed my subscription through Apple, but the app still shows that I need to subscribe. My payment is visible in my Apple subscriptions, and it’s set for renewal on a future date. I tried troubleshooting steps like restoring purchases and restarting the app, but the issue persists. Please address this issue promptly or guide me on how to resolve it, as I’ve already paid for the service.

You have obviously made major changes behind the scenes to subscriptions and availability of audiobooks without notifying the user. Not nice. Now. It says I am a legacy user and I cannot unlock or open even one audiobook past a preview. Not nice! What am I paying $13+ a month for? I also don’t have the option of upgrading to Standard or Plus. What gives?

Used to be really great. Until they changed the entire app. They claim to be unlimited books but now they’ve started locking books. They constantly remove books and mark them “available soon” when they were already available to begin with. They deleted and hide all negative comments on their social media platforms because so many people are complaining about the changes they have made. It’s clear they’ve gotten greedy and are being dishonest about what’s happening. Not sure why they think people won’t notice such major negative changes that are essentially ripping people off

I want to love this app for reading ebooks, but there are two defects that really drive me to dislike it. The first is a slider bar over top of the two lines at the top of the pages. It does nothing and serves no purpose other than to obscure a few words on either side of the margin. How did that pass testing? The second bug causes a whole column of text to disappear. It’s the second last column in a chapter and occurs when you inadvertently overshoot the page change and return to it. Sometimes this occurs because I’m trying to see the text under the unnecessary slider and accidentally change the page. I’d switch to the web reader but it doesn’t seem to have a way to zoom in on pictures.

I wouldn’t even mind so much if it was say, 20 audiobooks a month for a monthly fee. But it’s like… 3. Imagine Netflix only allowing you to watch 3 movies a month lol. Honestly, books I canada are such a rip off, print, ebook or audio. It’s 2024 & we are still paying $25 for audio files.

Good selection of books but not opening last two days, keeps saying “Problem with your connection, check connection and try again”. But there is no problem with my connection, every other App, including YouTube, is working. I reinstalled it a few times but didn’t resolve it. I have iOS. Hope it gets fixed. Never had this issue with Everand since they launched it. May be sometime to do with their last update. Again, excellent selection of books on Everand and several good docs on Scribd too.
