Fantastic apps

I am using Fling and depend on it on Android and IOS platforms and it works perfectly. Great app and looking for more enhancements.

I just signed up for the free trial/one month premium that said no restrictions yet I cannot access any of the options

App is more like a free trial than a free app

Just installed the app and scanned 3 times before getting a cooldown message. It says I have to wait until tomorrow due to “heavy server usage”. Not sure how scanning my local network utilizes their servers though… The whole app seems like a scam to get you to buy the premium…. Avoid at all costs

Paid to scan now!!

I downloaded the app in 2012 and have been using it since to perform a scan on my network, but now after a few scans, it says to come back tomorrow for another scan. They ruined the app now. Pay to scan on my local network with my local device?? 0/10 deleted after using it for so many years.

Love this app!

I don’t like to leave reviews but in this case one is warranted. This app is so easy to use even if you’re not “tech savvy”. I have it installed on my Mac and iPhone and it has been amazing. I live in a very crowded neighborhood and I was convinced someone was stealing my wi fi due to extremely slow speeds and this app helped to verify the problem and solve it. (It was user error by the way) Absolutely recommend!

Stores names by IP not MAC

… and reuses the names when the DHCP lease changes. Which means that I have several clients all claiming to be a particular device, only one of which really is that gadget. I know the Apple Store says apps are not supposed to read MAC addresses, so maybe this bug has become un-fixable. But it’s dumb and confusing.

Bugs

App has bugs. Few On/off buttons do not stick. For example, to temporary pause a device, after pressing the button to turn off a device temporarily, it keeps turning back on. Other buttons within the app are also not sticking when I attempt to turn it off.

Hobbled by insane subscription cost

A pretty good network scanning app, but so many features are behind an insanity priced subscription. $60/year? No thanks. I’m sure someone will pay that…. Worse, the app offers some functions on a one-time or limited trial basis, but when you try to use them, you’re taken to the $7/mo subscription page. Lame -1 star.
