I look forward to Japanese support.

Nothing more than a poor recipe book

BellaChan80 on

I got this imagining it would be linked with the Freeletics app, but it’s not. Why? I’ve no idea. On its own it isn’t anymore than a dubious recipe book. It doesn’t even take into account your personal weight, height, etc, exercises etc, and this doesn’t work for logging progress. Do yourself a favor skip this and buy a decent recipe book, this is absolutely useless!

Simple and easy

EliteWizart on

Most things are fairly easy to make if you have the right stuff on hand. You probably end up doing more shopping than you hoped for and a lot of the stuff like flaxseeds might be hard to find. A you probably want to have this stuff in house list would be helpful

Not Suitable for Japan

The recipes look tasty and are probably pretty healthy, but there are simply too many problems to recommend this app to anyone in Japan. 1) Weekly timing This fundamental flaw makes the app dead on arrival. The Japanese week begins on Sunday, yet the app starts its weeks on Monday. This is annoying simply because there is no option to change this to match other apps. More importantly, people buy their groceries for the week on the weekend as a general rule, right? How can we buy ingredients for the week if we don’t have a menu? This is a particularly important issue, because... 2) Recipes don’t suit the region The option to switch out ingredients is pretty nice, but it mostly switches from one unavailable ingredient to another. For instance, if a recipe calls for hummus, the ingredient listed is “hummus” which is not readily available in Japan, and needs to be made from scratch. Same thing goes for nut butters, mangoes and other primary ingredients. In addition, several options require baking in a traditional oven, which is a luxury item in Japan. 3) Recipes aren’t cost effective Japan has a plethora of healthy options that can be purchased cheaply (seaweed, soba noodles, miso, etc), but this app avoids these for aforementioned hard-to-find items. Assuming one could somehow find the time to make these recipes, one would have to go to several organic supermarkets and import shops and pay exorbitant prices to make even one or two of these recipes. 4) Recipes aren’t time effective Because of the time it takes to shop and the fact that items often need to be made from scratch, it’s almost impossible to keep on top of the plans that the Coach prepares. What can be fixed: Allow to adjust for shopping time- have to Coach ask what days we can shop for ingredients and base weeks of of that. Honestly, this alone would make the app so much better. Customize cooking tools: Allow users to pick from a set of cooking tools which the Coach can use to give available recipes. Customize ingredients: Similar to above. I understand that the app does try to give options, but overall even with the variety the app simply isn’t a feasible means for fix by one’s diet, especially if we begin with the premise that people using it may not be all that experienced in healthy eating. Don’t know if anyone will read this, but that is my two cents.

んbjkr on

Japan

Doesn't work for me.

I love the bodyweight training app and really wanted the nutrition app to compliment it. Sadly, I've been deleting and trying to reinstall this app for months now, and still get a connection error after I put in my vitals. Fix please!

Gute Rezepte nervige App

Seit Jahren keine Updates

Sm0k1nggnu on

Deutschland
