I downloaded the app a month ago because I liked the look of the app. I work a high-stress job and wanted something to monitor my stresses! I don’t have that, I have “Getting to know you”! I’m done with your app.

Fantastic app it’s really transform my relationship with wellness. I look at this app likely three times a day once when I wake up to look at my sleep, metrics wants to plan for my workout and then wants to review my workout after the fact. It’s really transformed my relationship with recovery and rest and has allowed me to progress at a healthy substantial rate. Thank you so much Gentler Streak

This app would be much better if it guided you through a run on your watch that it suggested based on your training readiness (like Runna or Garmin) instead of just giving you the recommended HR zone and a time. Not that helpful unfortunately.
I downloaded this app after seeing the editor pick and some reviews. After using it, I’m not sure why you would need it. It does not do anything further than Health. It’s less than the same health matrix. It seems to be the same thing as any other “health” app with cartoons. I guess it just didn’t do anything for me.
The app appears to be decent with a good summary of information the phone and watch collect. The nutrition articles should be taken with a grain of salt. I took points off for their high-pressure sales tactics. I felt as if I was at an auto dealer being asked “what can I do to get you in a car today.” I subscribed to the app, checked it out, and the. Cancelled my subscription. It’s not worth the black-Friday sales price. Since I cancelled my subscription, the app has thrown up a “Prolong your Subscription” view and it doesn’t go away! (There was an “X” button but tapping did nothing.) Time to ask for a refund.
Recent improvements have improved the app. It is tracking my unlogged exercises better now. I really like this way of tracking effort!
I subscribed to Gentler Streak for a year and really enjoyed some of the data. I did end up letting the subscription expire because I feel I have a better handle on my own training load now. On the positive, the app is well designed and I do feel like it was pretty decent at knowing when I needed to work vs rest, especially at first. However, once I got in a routine of regular workouts, it kept telling me to work harder to maintain my streak. Doing 30-60 minutes of strength training 3-4x per week and walking a lot seems like it should be plenty to keep me fit, but once Gentler Streak adapted to that routine, it started pushing me to do more and more in a way that felt unsustainable. I just returned from a 10-day trip to Europe, where we walked minimum 20K steps a day. I know the point of the app is to add more than just apple’s rings, but throughout that entire trip, the messages kept telling me to work out more and eventually “lost” my streak. I don’t mind that of course, but it’s wild that it can’t consider that I was walking 10 miles a day. I also think it’s absurd that period tracking isn’t included in the free version. Feels like holding back an extra feature for 50% of the users.
Gentler Streak, an app I highly recommend, is displeased with me because I have spent two days of strenuous forestry, which clashes with its health maintenance tenets. Its focus on recovery and maintenance makes it an app I wholeheartedly endorse, distinct from those aimed at athletes.
I have dysautonomia exacerbated by long Covid and I’ve been finding this app incredibly helpful for slowly building stamina and feeling better about taking extremely crucial rest days. After a few months I’ve gone from logging a couple minutes of walking or chores to logging hours of hiking and aerobics. Your mileage may vary, but this is one of the most accessible (and gentlest) apps out there.
