Goodreads: Book Reviews

Goodreads is a great app for tracking one’s reading journey, planning what to read next and for sharing with others. I recommend this app to readers wherever I go and love to see their reading journey too.

While Goodreads is a valuable platform for book lovers, there's room for improvement. The formatting options could be more user-friendly, and the inability to directly upload photos from devices feels like a missed opportunity. I would love to see updates that focus on enhancing the user experience and fostering a more engaging community. is long overdue. I always have to look up what symbols I need to be able to add images, links, etc. I can't see images I've used on the app, I need to log into the desktop version to see images. The app could be more interactive than “like” and “comment”. I can't even like someone’s comment in an ongoing interaction. I've got to comment in order to show I like their comment. Why this hasn't changed confuses me.

Goodreads is such an awesome and helpful platform to facilitate keeping an online library and keep track of your books, notes, wish lists, reading goals and more. Highly recommended, even if you aren't a regular reader.

During the last two weeks or so the app has been incredibly slow, and would crash unexpectedly while I’m reading or waiting for search results to load.

It has been 12+ years and this is still one of my favorite apps. If you like books, this is for you.

The app could be made more accessible to voiceover users.

The app itself really could be better. It never attempted to recommend me anything other than random books from genres that I had already stated I enjoyed. But it was usable. Then, it started bugging out and refusing to provide any LOGICAL search results. It’s been weeks of awful interaction with this damn app. I’m out.

Love this app but suddenly it doesn’t sort the books in order from highest lowest average rating? Is there a issue?

I really love Goodreads and I’ve been using it for close to two years now. It helps me keep track of the books that I read and i always look forward to my stats at the end of the year. The only thing I don’t like about Goodreads is that fact that we only have five stars as an option to rate books. I would really love if they could incorporate a decimal system, with a 0.5, 0.25 and 0.75.

Takes FOREVER to load anything and times out all the time. Been trying to see my reading goal for 2 days and it refuses to load it. Get it together Goodreads or I’m moving to story graph
