I love Healthy Minds!
This is great for beginner meditators as well as ones who have meditated a long time. Lots of good information!
Attempting to meditate without a guide such as this app is like winning a shopping spree but you forgot the special bag. All the benefits of meditation and brain taming is more attainable when specifically honing skills. Thank you👏👏👏
I love this app. The best one I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a bunch). It’s linear, so lessons build on each other. The explanations serve as inspiration and understanding the science is motivating. The medications put the science into action. I love hearing from the scientists directly. I like being able to choose from a variety of meditation voices. Bravo!
Who knew that all I was missing was learning some of the logic behind mindfulness to actually stick with a practice? Deeply appreciate this app and its creators.
In a world of subscriptions this app is free & just as high quality if not better than some of the paid apps, thank you.
I love, love, love this program … and Cortland’s voice! I have dabbled in meditation lessons since I ordered Jon Kabat Zinn’s cassette tapes in the 90’s. I have quite a bit of experience with a variety of meditation programs and teachers. Many are good. This one is outstanding. I appreciate the organization and sequencing of the sessions, the science-based material made accessible for the general public, the program’s balance between instruction & opportunity to practice what has been learned, and the encouragement to take our enhanced skills out into the wider world to benefit ourselves and others. I drift away from using the app periodically but it always feels like coming home when I pick it up again.
This app is beautiful in multiple ways: - The content is excellent. I have been a student of Mingyur Rinpoche for a little over a year and just finished the Joy of Living program. The Healthy Minds app has become a go to resource to help me maintain and grow my practice. It very much parallels the Joy of living program (there are intersections between Tergar and Healthy Minds but no official connection of which I’m aware) - the design and implementation of the app are superb. It has a minimalistic and therefore very clear user interface. Nowhere to get lost. No confusion as to your options. An uncluttered presentation of lessons, and meditations. Highly recommended!
I started learning a meditation in 1971 and have gone on different retreats and learned different styles and techniques. My preferred practice is Zen but I also have a Catholic tradition of Meditation. So when I heard about this app, I thought I’d give it a try just to see what it had to offer and if I could possibly recommend to other people who are looking for ways to begin or improve their meditation practice. And I have to say I’m quite impressed by what I’ve experienced after two months of using it every day. Solid information, I would say it is a kind and gentle approach. You can modify this to your needs or just let the program/App lead you through. I’ve been recommending this to my friends. I learned about it through a podcast so if you want to find out more, look up Healthy Minds on a podcast search. Peace.
