Live Wait Times

This is a really useful thing to have if you have people in your family that might need out of hours help more regularly than normal.

This could bean excellent app if it were developed more and publicised so many many more people know about it.

As I live on the Staffordshire/ Cheshire border, I find this app very useful for helping me to decide which centre to attend in the event of an urgent but not immediately life threatening problem. In the event that I do have to attend a centre with a long waiting time, the information enables me to pack useful items such as a phone charger, snacks, crochet to distract from anxiety etc. Thank you very much for this useful app.

I recently had need to take both my older parents to A&E a number of times due to various serious ailments and conditions. The app provided a pretty good indicator as to how many patients were currently waiting ahead of us making the journey. This gave my parents reassurance after being hesitant to go to A&E due to previous experience of long waits and uncomfortable conditions. Yes, there’s clearly more than can be done to help improve accuracy and style of the app, but it proves to be a very helpful tool in the event of needing to attend an emergency dept near to home. Thank you for your great work in creating, maintaining and monitoring the app. More power to your elbow!

Very simple, very informative and so easy to use. The info for my local area is very clear and precise with opening hours and current waiting times for the various A & E and Minor Injuries Units. 5 Stars from me.

I check this app whenever I or the kids have a need for medical attention. It helps me make an informed decision about which local NHS service is most suitable for our needs and to not put unnecessary pressure on already stretched emergency, walk in and urgent care facilities. Children’s A&E would be another good location to include. I’m sure there are still some people who would go and sit at A&E regardless of how busy they are even if they aren’t actually requiring emergency medicine. It’s a good way to tell if the kids are moaning for no good reason eg I could take you to the hospital but you’ll have to sit there for x amount of hours. When there is a real need to attend one of these units it helps to decide if going by taxi/Uber would be cheaper than paying for parking, it helps nurses and staff if people are arriving already aware of the long wait times, it means you can take things with you such as medication, food, drink, toys if you know you’ll be waiting a while.

Aintree doesn’t publish the times so no good to me

When I left to get to my hospital of choice the wait was shown as 7min. When I arrived (20min later) and had signed in at the reception the app showed this wait time had increased to 39 min. In theory I should therefore have been seen in under an hour. As I waiting, the time increased further, eventually getting to 4hrs+. It took me 2.5hrs to be seen. I suppose I should be happy that it didn’t take 4+ hrs… At best, this app can tell you that you’ll be waiting a long time.

The app doesn’t work if I’m connected to my data & doesn’t work if I’m connected to my internet??? Nothing loads. It’s slow & buggy. Needs fixing big time
