Meetup: Social Events & Groups

I have been in Meet Up since 2010. Now with the new changes that have been implemented and the constant push to purchase a package in order to interact with other people, I find it annoying. After indicating so many times that I am not interested in purchasing anything to upgrade my membership, I wish the company would stop pushing their product. I am fearful that the constant push will actually end up, pushing people away and will take away from the purpose of Meet Up. Please return things to the way they were because it worked.

Want to see 99% of events going on in your area? Be ready to pay up for it. Too many free alternatives!

This is a meetup app. Not a dating service. What’s with the ridiculous fees to see attendees at events when we could all see it before? This is a bad experience for your dedicated users to start charging for things that have been available for so long. Be more creative and come up with an actual premium feature instead of charging for something that already existed before. 🙄

I was charged without consent and when I attempted to cancel renewal, the app indicated that I did not have a subscription and was unable to cancel… SO frustrating!

Loved the app until they made seeing other attendees a premium feature that you have to pay for. It was nice seeing who else would be a first time attendee. Also, I have met some creepy guys on this app and was able to avoid them in the future by seeing the attendees. Now I can’t do that. Much less inclined to use this app now to be honest

I was an avid user for years. By have recently got disgusted by the pay-to-play system they have now. The app has always been clunky, and that was part of he experience.. but charging us for basic features we have had for free for years, is absolutely stupid. Adding NEW features and charging? That would make sense. Who is running your marketing department? Fire them.

One day they decided to delete my account, which I wasn’t using at all, claiming some grave abuse had occurred. What absolute dummies…

Way to go meet up, your latest update proves to us that all you’re about. Is trying to put money in your pockets even if it ruins an app for all of your users. Your changes, constant screen, pop-ups, telling me how I need to pay five dollars a week to see anything has totally inspired me to leave your app entirely. I hope this review encourages many many others to do the same. So that you get the message and go back to providing an actual service

I find the app wonky as it takes multiple taps on the screen to get the app to accept your selection. The “add to calendar” option gives no indication of the event actually being added-it just hangs there. Same for “reset password” screen. When you are done resetting the password, it does not take you back to the app itself-the screen just hangs there. Very odd.
