Resta sempre l'ottima app per Podcast che era prima, ma riscritta a prova di futuro e in costante aggiornamento per reintrodurre alcune comodità fortemente richieste (lo sviluppatore ascolta molto i suoi utenti). Five stars perché meritate e per risollevare le ingiuste valutazioni negative recenti. Bravo 👏

Overcast was my go to app for podcasts but after the massive redesign I had to leave because now it’s barely usable. That’s a pity.

App fantastica, la uso da parecchio tempo, mai avuto problemi!!!

I've been a longtime fan of Overcast, and it’s been my go-to podcast app for years. However, since the 2024.7 update, which introduced a major redesign and foundational changes (as explained by Marco in his podcasts), I’ve noticed a significant decline in overall quality. While I appreciate the effort that went into the visual overhaul, the app has become much less reliable, with a number of frustrating bugs that seriously affect usability. Here are the main issues I’ve encountered: Skipping to the next episode when connecting headphones or CarPlay: Every time I connect my headphones or start using CarPlay, Overcast skips to the next episode in the queue, leaving the current one unfinished. This is quite disruptive, especially when I’m mid-episode. Chapter list button on CarPlay: About 50% of the time, the button to view the chapter list in CarPlay doesn’t work at all. This makes it difficult to navigate longer episodes with chapters, a feature I rely on heavily. Failure to auto-play the next episode: Most of the time, when an episode finishes, the app doesn’t automatically advance to the next one, which is a basic function for any podcast app. While the new design might look sleek, I strongly believe that the focus should be on stability and functionality. After all, the aesthetic improvements don’t mean much if the app isn’t working as reliably as before. Thanks for all your hard work, and I’m hopeful these issues will be addressed soon! 💪🏻

La nuova versione di Overcast offre una nuova interfaccia e migliori performance. Si sincronizza in modo affidabile su diverse piattaforme. Marco Arment (lo sviluppatore) ha rilasciato diverse correzioni dal lancio di questa versione e ha ascoltato le raccomandazioni degli utenti. Si tratta di un’applicazione che rispetta la privacy (permette profili anonimi) e sviluppata da un programmatore indipendente. Personalmente la consiglio, come consiglio di sottoscrivere l’abbonamento.

Molto meglio del l'app Podcast integrata di iOS 9. Molto semplice e con funzioni avanzate e utili.

I’ve been a loyal user for one perhaps 10 years now but the latest updates are an absolute mess. Lots of bugs (next episode won’t play automatically, for instance), more taps are now needed to do things that only required one tap or a swipe in the past, things have been moved around and the layout is so different that commands my muscle memory dealt with thoughtlessly are now super hard to locate. It’s sad to have to let Overcast go but I’ll have to look for another app.

After four year of daily activities with this app, I have to quit. The quality of the streaming is every day worse. Sorry, I must change

Anche dopo il grande aggiornamento del decennale Overcast resta la migliore App per ascoltare Podcast: leggera, praticamente mai un bug, piena di funzioni utilissime come l'aumento del tono di voce, la possibilità di ridurre le pause nel parlato, quella di creare link da condividere con segmenti di podcast o il “ritorno indietro” di due o tre secondi se riprendete ad ascoltare dopo una pausa. Se la usate da tanto tempo, non fatevi spaventare se redesign dell’interfaccia grafica: in due o tre giorni vi abituerete a quella nuova senza problemi!
