Can’t beat it.

I held off updating to the new version for a long time but finally updated this morning, and now the app has been removed from my Apple Watch. So it seems the Watch app was either removed or isn't compatible with watchOS 9, which isn't specified anywhere as far as I can see. The Watch app was the primary reason I used Overcast in the first place. Why do things only seem to get worse with new software updates in recent years?? I regret updating because the app worked perfectly well before but now I've lost features and functionality.

The syncing between devices is excellent, something that the majority of competitors cannot seem to get right.

With the cosmetic change the interface was improved but now podcast will just disappear from the queue or will play for a part of the podcast then disappear and go to the next one. This happens on any podcast that is older the last 3 current ones. Extremely disappointing. Time to look for an alternative.

I’ve been a podcast fan for so many years. Love all the different ideas and stories. I listen to a couple of hours a day. I’ve been using Overcast the entire time (on their free version). Recently, I looked again at whether I should switch to another one but I found Overcast was just so much better for how I want to use it. The features are great! The new big update had a few teething issues but it helped me set up a new way of automating my favourite podcasts. I only recently discovered that it’s all created and looked after by a single person! I finally made the decision to subscribe to this app, not because it unlocks any features I want, but because I get so much value from this app every day, especially from the well-thought out features and customisation it lets me do.

Great app! Great features, well built, simple to use ‘off the shelf’ or for power users with a bunch of customisable options. The free version has everything, I pay for premium simply because the dev deserves it :)
