Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.
You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens.

Dislike the complicate
When people are trying to be smart with smart phone, smart website, smart app => now all the websites require another verification step.
Google, has Gg Authenticator
Microsoft Outlook, i also have to download the Authenticator
Now, Salesforce request authenticator.
My phone now already got 3 applications. Why don’t company not link with 1 third party to use 1 app, applied the codes for users??
It is very annoying with the IT apps these days, and my phone do not have much space for redundant app.

SF bắt buộc khách phải dùng 2F dù muốn hay không. Sinh ra mật khẩu để bảo mật tài khoản rồi, giờ mật khẩu vẫn còn không đủ nữa, bắt khách phải thêm này thêm nọ, vô cùng bất tiện, mỗi lần đăng nhập trên máy tính lại phải tìm lục điện thoại mở app để approve.
Nếu không phải do công ty bắt buộc, mình sẽ không bao giờ sử dụng các app của các công ty không tôn trọng khách hàng như này.

Can't enable backup function
It requires verification code via sms but user never receive this code. Already asked SF via email but no response so far

Solid app for what it is
As far as Authenticator apps go, this is the best I’ve used. It never fails to quickly prompt the 2fa and I’ve never had it go down. Other apps I’ve had to use in the past are slow and irritating when trying to sign in
