## Salesforce Authenticator Description
Salesforce Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts as a strong, out-of-band authentication provider. The app sends you a push notification, and you tap 'Approve' for logins and critical actions when it's you, or 'Deny' if it's not. For even more convenience, Salesforce Authenticator can use location services to automatically verify from locations you trust, like your office or home. Better yet, Einstein can save trusted requests for you! Then you need only respond to notifications when something out-of-the-ordinary happens.

You can also get a verification code when you need one. The codes also work as a backup authentication method if you're on a plane, or have poor connectivity. This means Salesforce Authenticator also works with third-party services that use OATH TOTP tokens. 


Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Rest assured, we go to great lengths to ensure minimal GPS use so that Salesforce Authenticator does not significantly impact your battery life.

Next thing you know nothing appears in the app, and Heroku is still sending push notifications to the app for sign in, which does nothing because app still thinks it needs to register Heroku. SF documentation indicates that any RFC-compliant TOTP program would work. SFCC does not permit anything except this piece of garbage which is now the fourth unique identifier program I have for different services who refuse to use well-known standards.

It wants location services and notification services for dubious reasons. Denied, but no simple authenticator should ever request or require either of these. Complete garbage.

There is a problem on my iPhone 11 - ios15 that causes the “authenticate” view on the app to keep appearing. The only way I can use this app is by holding the notification and approving that way.

This issue has existed for 8 months now, the only way to fix is to delete the app and reinstall, but then after a few days it occurs again.
