Volta Charging

Few things you should know before you go to a Volta charger, be aware that it may say is working but is not, after talking to them I found, is an answering service there is nothing for them to do for you other than open a ticket, they can not reset the units remotely. I writing this from one of two of their chargers and after a technician was here the one he work on will not update the app to be able to be used and the other one will not work, even though the app says is working 3 others try to use it will I been sitting here. Bottom line if you are low on charge I wouldn’t use a Volta you might get stuck waiting for a tow truck since the next charger might be to far……. THANKS A LOT Volta…….😡

These chargers are an absolute waste of materials. They only work sometimes and even when they do it will just cut off half way through your charge. I asked multiple people with EV’s about what was going on and even they didn’t know. Not matter how many reports of not charging people send in nothing happens. Unless you just so happen to catch the charger at a good time it won’t even start or if it does you won’t get a full charge. Had me out in the sun for 30 mins trying to get a charge. SMH All of the good reviews are from years ago. Guess they just fell off.

I used a couple of Level 2 chargers a month or two ago and they worked fine. Suddenly, the last 5 of them I’ve tried to use have said “charging equipment no ready” on my screen, and the T just sits at a solid blue the entire time. I have literally changed nothing about the way I plug it in. My car still works with Superchargers and ChargePoint. Seems like Volta is the problem.

Ok so Volta She’ll is becoming She’ll recharge. I download Shell Recharge app to my smartphone and it picks all Charge-points BUT NO Volta stations.

Volta used to be drive up and it just worked. Now Shell decided to destroy this charging network by requiring an app to start the charge that doesn’t even work when you have the app. Way to go Shell, good to see you making it harder for EVs to charge trying to get folks back to gas.

I had to leave my car in underground parking to go upstairs and download, and when I came back stairs it still didn’t work. It’s stressful to risk ticket or tow to download the app. When I called the helpline multiple times, no one picked up. The station I used didn’t have a stall number so I couldn’t make the charger turn on by clicking the stall on the app. The process stole 30 minutes of my life and didn’t charge my car.

I can’t even report when a charger is not working

The app is practically unusable and the UI looks like it was designed by a high school intern. I have yet to get the app to work at all. since it no longer charges your car without some magic activation from within the app, I have not been able to use these chargers.

How would I, as an EV driver concerned about the environment, be able to patronize a Shell product with a clean conscience?
