Useless without access to Apple Card and apple savings accounts.
I’ve been using Wally for a few years now and have appreciated it, until now! With the update I don’t think I lost transactions, but I did loose all of my notes in the transactions. I actually used those & referred to some of them monthly. I now only have my prior merchants A-B. All of the others are gone. I have to “add” a merchant almost every time because it doesn’t remember the “new” merchants I add. I’m not sure how many Safeway merchants have been added. I don’t want to add my bank accounts, I want to track my individual expenditures monthly. I can log into my bank accounts to see my balances. I also don’t trust the AI to not track me, not keep my bank info, ect. If you check the reviews, the only good ones are from years ago. I’m having problems similar to those who have written recent reviews. I don’t find any of the “update” notes to be true. At this point the app seems to be ruined.
So, I’ve been using this app for about 3 years now and it seems the more the app had updates the more bugs I faced, however I’m at a breaking point with the most recent update. Seeing a new welcome screen and an entire remodel of the app would’ve made me think the Wally team finally squashed most of the bugs I faced, and yeah, there’s a smoother session. HOWEVER, upon re logging back in, somehow all of my information never loaded as if there was a gap in the data from a time period im unaware of. On top of that, the annoyance of being logged back out every other session is a nuisance. Now the worst thing? The fact the new update is so confusing. I can’t easily select my sub category without fighting with the menus and I used to have the default payment method up, now it resets to one I rarely use each time. But the fact I had transactions reappear that I deleted months ago is also confusing. This is how I’ve chosen to budget but I can’t keep going this route if the app is going to be an inconvenience .
The last update made the app completely unusable. I reported issues multiple times on 7/7 (a MONTH ago) and get the same rote response with no update. This app is only good when there are no issues whatsoever, otherwise they take months to get them fixed (including bugs), or they just never fix them. As it stands, I can’t enter a new transaction, let alone EDIT an existing one without it crashing, so it’s dead and has been this way over a month. Shameful. It used to be decent.
Wow what an hour of my morning. Having deleted and uninstalled, I am now free of this pesky bug. Believe the comments, not the dev update
I waited three months to write this review as I wanted to give the developers some time to respond to my issues. They are generally responsive, but only on email which is inefficient. They refused to chat with me. I paid one time life fee (gold or something) when I saw it supported local banks. I regret this now, but no way to ask for refund. Pros: - The app provides automatic categorization of transactions and expenses (food, fuel, travel, etc), which is mostly accurate. - The developers are generally responsive in their communication, but only on email. They take 24 to 48 hrs. - Multiple currencies, but you must assign one main currency. - ChatGPT API... but, see below. - Connect to Middle East banks (apart from Oman), but, again, see below. - Graphics presentation, although basic and don't expect fancy stuff. - Budget, never tried it, due to so many problems below. Cons: - No iPad support to see big graphics when sipping coffee at home. - The app's user experience is not well-achieved, making it difficult to find screens and information. It like assumes first time users know everything around. Not easy to navigate, irresponsive buttons, etc. I just hated the UX. They added ChatGPT to retrieve info but see below. - The connection with GCC banks is frequently lost (like almost every time I open the app), requiring manual disconnection and reconnection. This is extremely annoying and leads to the need for reediting account names and transactions. I gave up. - Transactions for supplementary credit cards are often duplicated, which means it shows my expenses are inflated. The developers were unable to resolve this issue. - The integration of the ChatGPT API doesn't provide meaningful insights due to the presence of rubbish transactions and poor reporting. - The app doesn't support banks in Oman.
Worked great until they updated it. Can’t assign new businesses. The entire business list cuts off after “C”. Why do developers always fix that which is not broken?
It’s just compatible with Santander. And it doesn’t bring all the data correctly. I hope they can fix it, to start using it
I was very happy using Wally until the last update. With the new app I am being logged out every day, inputing expenses has become a nightmare and I can no longer see my expenses as I wish. There are a lot of bugs with the update that I have addressed to the Wally team and there still has been no solution. If they were not ready to come out with a solid update, they should have let their paying subs keep access to the prior version.
