Proton Drive: Cloud Storage

app is cool and proton is cool. one problem though: can’t see files synced from my PC on an app. Proton team, really? this is quite the opposite to what you expect from cloud storage service.

Thank you for your work. An excellent application for secure file sharing and storage. It would be great if you could upload an unlimited number of photos instead of 10 at a time. It would also be great to see an icloud/Google Photo analog for automatically uploading photos from the device to an encrypted cloud. P.S. And the last thing. Please return the Proton VPN app to the AppStore 🙏. Your new protocol perfectly resists Russian censorship.

It is great to see integration with the Files app from the first release 👍

Larger files always fail to upload. The upload process can be resumed after the error but it always stops after ~5 seconds of upload repeatedly. This bug makes the app unusable for video uploading. Photos are documents are handled well. Huge weakness of the Proton suite is the IOS Proton Drive app.

Make multiple copies of all images! Some of them 25 times!

Update: I found that the missing context menus makes this almost useless on iOS. What’s the point in the app if I can’t save files to it? For the time being I’m sending these via email and using my PC to save… With the windows desktop client out, I’m now piloting the move from Dropbox. So far very good, the only issue is the limited storage space (500GB) which isn’t enough. I’m hoping to have the option to upgrade to 2TB soon.. Update2: Thanks for the feedback: actually going through files does work but protonmail is hidden there by default, so I had to I hide it. It does the job just fine but absolutely not intuitive, I would have never figured it out myself. Upped rating to 4*. As for the storage, the gap between 500G and 3TB is huge, and the family plan is 3x more expensive. Something in between would make sense.

Good direction, thanks for your services! As a PM Premium user I would completely ditch your competitor if there was a non-web version available for Windows/Mac and phones so it would be recognized as a seperate drive… Is something like that coming?

Really like the app, but for the business use we need the win10, desktop version. I still trust the process and like the direction.
