Description

When you know what’s in the air you breathe, small changes make a big difference!

The Airthings Wave app connects to your Airthings View, Wave, and Hub devices bringing your home’s air quality data straight to your smartphone. It features:

• Color-coded indicators give you at-a-glance information about your air quality levels.
• Access to the web dashboard for detailed graphs to help you track and analyze changes in readings over time.
• Tips for addressing common indoor air quality problems.
• Information about current and projected pollen levels in your area, thanks to Breezometer.
• Access to the Airthings knowledge base and the customer support team chat.

Note that Wave Plus, Wave Radon and Wave Mini monitors use Bluetooth LE to connect to your mobile device to provide readings while you are within Bluetooth range. However, they do not connect directly to your home WiFi network to give you access to updated information when you are away from home. If you would like to enable WiFi access to your Wave monitor’s readings, you have a couple of options:

• Install an Airthings Hub and link your Wave monitor/s to it.
• Add a View series monitor to your home setup. These monitors connect directly to your home WiFi network and act as the WiFi hub for your Wave devices so that you can check updated information from all of your monitors, at any time, from anywhere.

Updates = SLOW APP!!!!

Woodcock69 on

1 star for trying. Each update the app gets slower and slower. Also Firmware update? Why? Have you learned something from the printer and GPS manufacturers ? Yikes.

Great App, Super easy to set up.

Schwob66 on

Not sure I understand the bad reviews. Air quality measurements aren’t instantaneous. Nor should they be. The online documentation explains everything very well and help is frequently offered. I think the app finds the right balance between simplicity and complexity. The web app allows for a deeper dive if need be.

Slower

kejwilson on

The app is becoming unusable for me, it was great a year ago but I can’t even look at the stats for temperature, humidity, VOC anymore within the app because they don’t load or if they do, it hangs when toggling between timescales. Have to use the web dashboard now to look at the information.

Devices won’t sync

They worked really well. I have a mini and a full size. For a few months. But now I haven’t been able to sync for months. Super disappointing as the product is good when it works. Was told to change batteries. That had no effect.

Archaic and unconventional

The threshold notifications section allows me to toggle “on or off” but doesn't tell me what the notifications are for. Are they for a red level warning notification, a yellow warning one? Why aren't the notifications customizable to a certain threshold that I choose so I don't have to use their thresholds that don’t even say what the notification is for? It just says to "set my own notifications" but they aren't mine, they are pre chosen by the app, and they don't say what they are. I have not seen any new improvements to this app in a long time. Shouldn't there be some new features by now? Never is there a device update, it always says it is up to date so I assume they aren't making any improvements. Also, when I click on the various things it monitors, Humidity for example, in the app (not on the website version), I can see a rough date but if I click somewhere on the graph line to put the slider dot that shows the measurement for a particular moment in time, it doesn't tell me what time of day it happened and roughly says what date. I can see a date axis along the bottom, and roughly guess a time, and I can move the slider around but it doesn't give me a measurement coinciding with a time, which is pointless. I get that the website version gives more information but the app should give that same information since they have a slider to move around on there. Otherwise why does it move? When you click on one of the measurement categories, like the word VOC’s, it can be yellow on the main screen and then when you click it to see more, it flips to a screen that shows it is green. So it doesn’t give you more info about why there is a yellow warning, it instead gives a 48 hour measurement that shows an average which can be a completely different threshold than what is currently happening. When I click an orange warning, it shouldn't take me to a tab that says everything is green and wonderful. The reason I'm click on the orange is because I want to know more about the problem, I don't want to be taken to a screen that tells me that over the last 48 hours everything has been green. Not relevant in that moment. Overall I think this app and device may have been useful initially, but they have significant competition by Amazon and others now. They haven't kept the product ahead of the curve, their app is exactly the same as when I started using it two years ago, the functionality is mediocre at best, not intuitive and not user friendly or customiza
