Edit 1: No, what you are saying is not true. I am a paying customer, actually. The service is great, and I totally understand why can’t offer it for free anymore. What caused me to give it a two star was that you suddenly blocked me without giving me any time to decide, or even inform me that I could start a trial and then cancel it. Another review from a “Gilad R. “ explains this very thoroughly. There is also Arc Mini that would cover my needs but as stated before; I like Arc, I don’t mind paying for it and I will continue to do so. I just wish you would have handled the transition with a bit more transparency. After puzzling things together from your forum and other reviews expressing concerns, and discovering the existence of Arc Mini, I have changed the review from 2 stars to 4 stars. Original review: I just updated the app and was hit by a paywall. I don’t mind paying and supporting a product I’m using, even semi-regularly, but forcing me to do so is a very shady thing to do.

I started using Arc when the moves app shut down. With the update today 22-10-03 the developer put a paywall to use the app, and quite a hefty one. So this is where I quit. It’s not that I’m cheap, but the prices are way too high for me at 7 usd/month or 150 for “lifetime”. The dev has been pushing the paywall for years, and I can understand him wanting money for his work. But as long as there are free alternatives in the App Store that’s where I’ll go.

…when it works. But it stops/halts in the background WAY to often to inspire any confidence. My other background (location/activity) trackers also halts occasionally, but Arc is worse by a few orders of magnitude. But, apart from that quote serious flaw, I actually like it a lot and would be really happy to see a stable version of it asap!

Great app and a smooth way to import data from Move app

After the last update the app has gone totally crazy. The map shows I’ve been on the other side of town when I just walked around the block. Most places are incorrect, after on hour walk it says I walked for 8 minutes. Often “thinking..” when I view the timeline and then it relates to nothing. Stationary for 18 hours. Feels like it counts stuff when it feels like it. Says I’m in transport when I’m in bed and so on. Can’t rely on it anymore. :( Too bad. Had good support with the no count of steps (tho it never got to work) but I think this is too much problems.

Great app but it eats your battery😔

Why allow only the map so have a dark version when everything else is retina-burningly bright? Honestly really annoyed this was overlooked.

I’m using an iPhone 13 Pro and this app is using unreasonable amounts of battery on days that I don’t leave the house and when I’m sleeping. I have to uninstall because it makes my phone die way too fast.

I wasn’t mad about subscribing- I think it’s a worthwhile feature that comes in handy often enough I would pay money for it. But coincidentally, now that I have been paying for a few months (and not really using its features) it’s suddenly broken. It’s useless. It doesn’t work. I thought maybe it’s from the app being closed out, but NOPE. I made sure the app was open yesterday and even today, it says there’s an empty timeline. I live that I’ve now wasted minimum of $15 just to find out this once handy, now expensive app is now unusable. Is this a scam?!
