Such an excellent and helpful app! I don’t like tracking calories but this app helps me with accountability and, especially, with reviewing the choices I’ve made and make improvements.

Such an excellent and helpful app! I don’t like tracking calories but this app helps me with accountability and, especially, with reviewing the choices I’ve made and make improvements.
I love this app. It makes it incredibly easy to take pictures, and see if you’re on track, how it was etc. Never had any problems so far, also with showing the basic analyses. Don’t have the premium account though, seems a bit too pricey for 1 month. What I’m missing for 5 stars: a feature that allows to do paar analyses, e.g. show all the pics I took and tagged with „feeling bad“ and „stuffed“. That would help to see when and what food contributed to these feelings. But apparently they are working on that feature now.
This app is very well made and works flawlessly. Thank you!
This is the app I’ve been looking for. The camera implementation is great, and the AI does its best to decipher what you’ve got on your plate. It’s not always on the money, but it gives you a good start on ingredient analysis. This app is flexible, non-judgmental, and open-ended so you can experiment with different nutrition strategies and approaches to eating. You can even make up your own! I LOVE THIS APP!! I love the “eat the rainbow” approach to nutrition. Great app, highly recommended.
It is a really good app to record what you eat and thinking on a daily basis. But I hope it can add another function that is to put the meal plan there as well so to help with meal pre and compare
Update: AteMate AI is a game changer! Love the Eat the Rainbow analysis and the new insights. Finally I have the motivation to eat more veggies! 🥗 ***** I stumbled upon the Ate Food Journal app during my own health and wellness journey, and what a discovery it's been! This isn't just another techie tracking tool; it's like a friend who understands the ups and downs of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. What I genuinely appreciate about Ate is how it encourages mindfulness about what we eat, rather than obsessing over numbers. It's been a real eye-opener for me, helping me see my food choices in a whole new light. And trust me, as someone juggling a tech career and family life, I know the value of something that's easy and quick to use. Ate fits right in. Photo based, intuitive, and not judgy at all. Love it! Did I mention that they also support tracking your exercise, sleep, water, weight, and other aspects of your health. They are all optional, but can give you a great overall picture of your journey. Everything you need on one easy to read timeline. How great is that? I also want to give a shoutout to the Ate community and the support team. It's a warm, welcoming space that reminds me of the support I try to offer in my own life. This app is definitely for anyone and everyone - whether you're just starting out or have been on this path for a while. Over the years, I've learned that health is a personal journey, and Ate really gets that. It's not about drastic lifestyle overhauls, but about making small, sustainable changes. It's been a great companion for me, and I think it could be for you too. So, here's my two cents - if you're looking for a simple, friendly way to keep an eye on your eating habits, give Ate a try. It's been a great help to me, and maybe it can be for you too. It’s well worth the couple of bucks a month! I save more by that single pastry I skip.
it’s a break from myfitnesspal and as a visual person, it’s making eating intuitively so much easier
It doesn’t harass you, it doesn’t berate you, but with a great interface it stubs you gently into the direction you want to go. Very easy to track and instead of calorie counting you can see the quality of your foss choices in rainbow colors (you can track standard sugar, fast, carbs if you prefer). You can enter via text or take a photo and AI does the rest. You can add notes and track feelings and so on. This app is a very refreshing and a great surprise!
I've loved this app until yesterday. It quit working. Any help or advise?
The only complaint I have is that I can’t edit the AI analysis if the food. On my smoothie it said I ate “dairy” when that is completely false. I would also like to see a chart that shows me how much if each food category I’ve eaten in a day, a week, a month, a year, etc. That being said, it’s a small detail. I’ve found the app useful overall.
