Already paid for the app, and they’re trying to force me into a subscription model. That’s theft. Will complain to apple.
I’ve been using this app since it first launched . The updates are always welcome improvements. I didn’t mind paying the subscription fee each year as I use it more than I do many of my streaming apps.
Never mind answering. It does not restore,it just offers 1 yr Subscription.I purchased this app & all the add ons. I don’t want a ‘free’ one Year Subscription. You should try to restore your Reputation. Does your response to Cheated & insulted mean you are restoring our Purchase? Free Subscription Offer?? Update: Just found this: Lifetime Subscription $59.99 . So basically you’re trying to sucker Previous Owners again. Purchase it once for a Lifetime (Not the case) & now Purchase it again & call it something different. So now you are offering a Lifetime Subscription & free for one Year to those who purchased your app? 😂 Do you recall offering a Lifetime Purchase of this app (which I purchased) & lifetime purchase of the individual Add ons (which I purchased) & the lifetime purchase of iBird Journal (which I purchased)? I’m afraid the only way you’re going to restore your Reputation is to offer lifetime grandfathering for the people who purchased this app & all the add ons. What you did is called bait & switch. It’s fair to change to a Subscription Model for people who hadn’t previously purchased this app & all the add ons inclu ibird Journal. They could make the decision about subscribing but you pulled a fast one on the Purchasers. My recommendation would be that you restore your Reputation but you do you.
This used to be an excellent app when I actually owned it. Now I discover that the app I owned - my property - has been confiscated without compensation, and I have to pay a subscription. The only positive note is that I was able to get a free trial at no cost. Good thing, because after a day having the app open, not one bird song was downloaded. There are other bird apps that work extremely well and cost nothing. Even my old Peterson guide and streaming free bird songs on the internet are superior to this. Of course I deleted iBird, cancelled my "free" trial and am happily using something free that’s just as good if not better.
The Mitch Waite Group (iBird) scammers are at it again. I purchased iBird Canada back before when it was separated into different regions. To my surprise they discontinued iBird Canada and rebranded all the regions into iBird Pro. I contacted Mitch Waite Group and they said nothing could be done and that I would have to purchase the new iBird Pro. Nope not going to burn me twice! Now they scammed the current iBird Pro customers telling them they need to pay a subscription for the app that was already paid for. Here is my Warning to you: Don’t pay for a lifetime subscription! They will just scam you by rebranding the app in the future. If you are new and willing to pay a subscription, the monthly plan is the best choice. IBird is a great app! The people behind it are not. Be cautious.
I don’t mind paying for things but don’t like changing rules. A lifetime subscription should be just that. I am deleting this app as there are decent alternatives.
I lied this app? Paid for it and then poof, says I never purchased, I will also be reporting you to Apple, thievery at its best.
I bought the app for full price. When I was told I now need a subscription I was very unhappy and instantly deleted it. So disappointing. Would give zero stars if I could.
I paid $40 for the app years ago, now it wants me to pay again! Ripoff!
I purchased the expensive $$$ one time app a few years ago only to find today March 2024 that it no longer worked. I had a great growing list of favourites saved over time as I found each bird visit out home. Then it all disappeared unless I gave them more money. A lot more! Here is what they told me when I reached out for help getting things back. They basically told me they changed their minds and I missed the deadline. I received nothing to tell me about the change. I was left high and dry by these thieves. I moved to Merlin Bird HD for FREE and will not be giving these scam artists a penny more. Buyer beware. What will they change next to screw you? Hi Randy, The "Previous Owner/Restore Purchases" button will only work if you currently have a subscription and you are changing devices; it will NOT restore your previous one-time-purchase version that was purchased before August 2023. In July 2022, we shifted iBird Pro from a one-time purchase model to a subscription-based platform. This decision was not made lightly and was implemented after careful consideration. Our goal has always been to provide you with high-quality and innovative features while ensuring the sustainability of our operations. However, economic factors made it necessary for us to transition to a subscription model. We understand that this transition is significant, so we ensured a smooth process for our loyal customers. We offered existing iBird Pro customers the option to extend their subscription for free until August 1, 2023, directly from the app. We initially attempted to verify this through the original purchase receipt, but when that wasn't feasible, we extended a complimentary subscription until the same date. We've heard from users who didn't update their app last year and are now discovering the subscription model. Others successfully enjoyed the free subscription until August 1, 2023, and some expected they could further extend it by using the "Previous Owner/Restore Purchases" button. Unfortunately, if you fall into either of these categories, once the complimentary period ends, your only option to continue accessing the enriched features of iBird Pro is to subscribe at $0.99/month or $9.99/year (USD). We sincerely hope you'll consider subscribing to support us as a company, enabling us to develop new features and maintain the app's functionality. Your support and loyalty throughout this transition mean the world to us. We genuinely appreciate your understanding, and
