August Home FAQ
Is August Home free?
Yes, August Home is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is August Home legit?
⚠️ The August Home app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Not dependable. The app tells you to replace batteries that are “critically low”, yet my battery metre shows them as fully charged. The app seems to be set to an elapsed time for the “replace battery” notification, rather than actual battery levels. This will cause you to spend extra money on very expensive batteries. The Auto Unlock and sensing rarely, if ever, work as they should. If I had to buy a new smart lock, it would NOT be this one. There are better options on the market.
Good app/ Product
Pros: easy to use interface.
Cons: No way to delete anything on activity log. There’s absolutely no relevance to keep all that.
The batteries are very expensive.

Missing low battery notifications
This app does everything I need except give me a heads up when the batteries are low. I get a notification that the lock can’t connect to WiFi which usually means the battery died but I’d like a notification that the batteries will died in X hours/days so I can change them before it dies. This is fairly important given I’m lucky to get a month of battery life out of it.
Can’t make widgets
Instead of bug fixes how about a genuine features people can use
Need better battery level
The app has been notifying the battery is critically low for over a month. It says below 10%. I had added August to Samsung SmartThings. In it, battery still has 40%. I have not replaced the battery trying to see if SmartThings is more precise.
HomeKit adding broke
App crash when trying to add to HomeKit in iOS 18
Maybe good
I tried to install this to use with a new August lock to find Bluetooth is turned off by default. Why? I had to hunt around to fix this. Then I find you need a bridge to use wifi at additional cost. Then I find the adapters don’t fit my lock. A waste of my time.
Removing important features
Removed the widget which makes accessing the lock quick and easy. Talk about a step backwards.
