Learn to recognize intervals, scales, modes chords and cadences with Aural Wiz. Whether you are a music student preparing for aural tests as part of your formal musical training or a musician just working towards improving your aural skills, Aural Wiz would be an indispensable companion for you.

You can use Aural Wiz in two modes - Learn and Practice. In Learn mode, you can play back an interval, scale, mode, chord or a cadence to understand how it sounds. In Practice mode, a melodic or harmonic pattern will be played and you'll be asked to identify the interval, scale, mode, chord or cadence. Good value and a fascinating app with much to recommend it. Simple to use.

Superb. Thought I knew how to spot chords, cadences, modes etc. but this app makes you realise just how much there is to learn. Can’t complain, it’ll keep me entertained for a long time, assuming I make the the necessary progress. I play the piano and have good pitch, but even so it opens your eyes to the fascinating world of music theory as well as practice.

Absolutely fantastic

For a free app, this is fantastic. No ads, good quality. My only recommendation is more cadence recordings, they seem to repeat a lot.

So useful

I’m a secondary school student and really enjoy music theory. I came across this app from their website and it is the most useful app I have every found. It allows you to progress so quickly. 10/10 would recommend

Good app but.....

Good little learning and practice tool, but as others have said, it’s not for complete beginners!

Great app if you know what cadence, intervals and minors are

Not so great if you only know basic music theory. There are no explanations anywhere to help you understand what the different terms mean. Aside from that it’s a great app, it’s great knowing what a minor 7th sounds like, not so great not knowing anything about what a minor 7th actually means.. hope his makes sense.

I am very confused on how to work this app. I’ve heard great things about it but honestly it’s not that great. I thought it would be straight forward but i thought wrong. I would only download this app if u know your way around these things.
