“Pay later” online selected but charged full amount
We selected the PAY LATER option but charged the full amount. The PAY NOW option was also available online, but we did not select it. When Avis was contacted they said they only have the PAY NOW option, and no PAY LATER, so if out trip is cancelled we get charged $50!!

The billing process is difficult if you are not established. I set up multiple bank accounts to acquire an account. If you do not have a credit card then this would not be an easy process An Avis Charge Card is hard to acquire as well.
No benefit with App
Landed at Savannah Airport, chose the select my car option, and keep getting an error telling me I need to go to counter. So have to wait at counter with 10 other people waiting for single Avis rep to help us out. Not any benefit from being Preferred or in using the App. They must be using Delta scheduling software
Reservation
I reserved a Suburban or Similar which in my opinion would be a Yukon XL or an Expedition Max but instead I got an infinity QX80 which is not comparable to a Suburban
The Suburban is much bigger and more comfortable I wish they wouldn’t play these Games with not equal vehicles

Doesn’t Show Current Rental
App doesn’t show current car reservation. Currently driving a car from Avis - only proof I have is the emailed receipt. Nothing on the app. No Upcoming, Current or Past.

The fantastic young man solved a late night problem for us. Best Avis customer service we’ve ever had. Great attitude. Great car.

If you have a current reservation and it’s not showing up in the app and you need to search for it, good luck!
Frustrating and rude
We reserved a car at the Denver airport for our family road trip. I used a coupon code I found online. The site never prompted me to provide proof of eligibility. I thought it was a Costco discount code, which I am a member, but apparently the code I entered was for another company. How was I supposed to know? I received a confirmation email with the price. We arrived to pickup our car to find out it was $500 more than the price in my confirmation because I didn’t have proof of eligibility for the code I used. Nowhere does it mention that or prompt you that you will need that information. They do this on purpose so you are stuck when you rent your car, and the can charge you whatever they want. The desk agent was extremely rude and lied about being the manager. Avis and Budget are the same company, so I would recommend not renting from either company. Enterprise and Hertz are better bets for customer service.

Tried other companies but always come back. The ease of renting is unsurpassed
