Really versatile iOS DAW

Tons of features for audio and midi, probably the best DAW on iPad

Huge Potential, horrible File Management

Actually this would be the perfect Music App for my needs. Great Sampling Tool with tons of features. Sadly the File Management is a mess. Doesnt find Samples even though they are in the folder or they go missing completly and so on. As ive seen in Forums im not the only one with this Issue so this makes one of the best Beatmaking Apps unusable, sad.

Also die Idee und das Design dieser App sind gut, aber sie funktioniert einfach nicht wirklich. Vor allem wenn ich Audio Unit Apps oder Inter-App Audio Apps benutze stützt diese App immer wieder mal ab, oder laggt einfach fürchterlich. Zum spielen OK aber was Ernsthaftes kann man damit nicht produzieren, dafür ist das Ganze zu unstabil. Werde wohl auch in Zukunft Musik auf richtigen DAWs und richtigen Computer machen. Schade eigentlich...

A dream come true!

I’m simply amazed by the qualities of this very serious creation tool. BM3 blends the worlds of MPCs, Ableton Live, etc. into a single iOS device that is very well thought through, deep, (relatively) intuitive and inspiring. And it keeps on improving! The manual is an excellent read too, which is often overlooked in cheaper products. Keep up the great work, Intua!

The most amazing game changer

I have now been using BeatMaker since the first ever edition. BM2 was a breath of french air but BM3??? That is a serious game changer that people need to catch up with. This is not a gadget or something light that would then require to be exported to a more serious platform to finish off as many people assume. BM3 is the end destination as the perfect blend between digital audio interface and tactile feel. Musical intuition at its best. This very same intuition is what has personally accelerated my maturing process as a beatmaker/producer. My only two wishes, would be (I) to have a feature that enables real time, tactile fx manipulation for each track similar to the GarageBand Fx feature (II) More collabos with MSXii for sound packs, similarly to what they did with Akai for the MPC Force. Maybe for BM4?

Just with the newest update

At first I thought it might be a good replacement for LIVE on an iOS device. Unfortunately I found it not the same to use. It’s a different concept I guess. After all I still find myself using it from time to time.

Great Sampler/Beatmaker DAW

Beatmaker 3 closes a gap in the IPAD DAW ecosystems: While garageband is still one of the user friendliest, it's limited in it's sampling capabilities.Beatmaker offers here fine tuning options (good sample cut interface, change sample properties) for the sample itself, but also a 4X4 pad interface that is popular for beatmaking- similar like iMPC PRO. But in contrary to iMPC PRO, that has a bit of a special usability, and very limited export functions (it supports AudioCopy-but that's it), Beatmaker can export tracks as audio live streams in combination with Audiobus-(Garageband only acts as input, not as output in Audiobus- Beatmaker does). (Not sure about the level of IAA support-did not show up in AUM) Beside this, it can also act as full grown DAW, like cubasis, garageband or other DAWs, including a track/timeline view with a midi roll/editor- the interface has dramatically improved with version 3, and I see it now as my favorite DAW for sample/beatmaking - I didn't find a lot glitches on the first look- it can also load plugins as other DAWs, but what really stands out is the sampling/drum pad part for me-I haven't found anything similar on this expertise level. that was really missing seriously in the IPAD Music app world. The only thing missing are yet a few hiphop style samples to buy and then you are ready for fat beats!
