Beryl - bike & e-scooter hire

I never ever leave reviews however my experience with this app and company was horrible. This bike company is ridiculous. If the bike isn’t working properly and you think you locked it but it didn’t work, it continues to charge your card if someone uses it. So it takes money from your card without consent. The company doesn’t do anything to help or refund you. I also bought a package and the package doesn’t even work. I still paid for my ride using money even though I had pre-bought minutes. Also if you miss type a bike code it could unlock a bike in another place. In order to end the ride you would have to find that bike (which you have no way of doing) and lock it. The app and company doesn’t care about its customers. Poor customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Unless you want your money stolen from you.

Definitely the best bike share in the UK! Easy to use, fun to ride and so affordable.

When I try to buy minutes the app instantly crashes would not recommend this app

The bike didn’t unlock!

The scooter was vibrating badly as if the bearings or electric motor had a problem.

Great way to get around but £3.72 for a 17min ride is crazy expensive this is not a great alternative to getting bus or driving

I am a regular user of public bike schemes, and sad to say the scheme in my home City of Leeds is the worst I have come across. On literally 30% of occasions there is a problem unlocking the bike and more than once now the electric assistance has not worked or has only worked sporadically, which in quite a hilly City makes relying on the scheme as a form of transport useless.

Never unlocks. Always broken. Absolutely terrible

the rides hardly ever unlock and when they do, the so called authorisation charge is never refunded and it’s charged multiple times. even when the bike doesn’t unlock i’m still charged for authorisation!! daylight scam

Every single time I’ve tried to hire a Beryl bike there’s been a problem. Either they don’t unlock, the electric part of ‘electric bike’ is non-existent, they don’t lock when you finish the ride, or you try to pause the ride and it doesn’t pause, the ride ends- charging me an out-of-bay fee. Useless.
